Room key stop working each day. Long waiting time at the front desk. Poor food selections. Power outages. No wifi in your rooms. Long walk to your room to find out your key doesn't work. Limited courtesy phones, making you walk almost all the way back to the front desk for help

Great vacation getaway
The hotel is located in a good part of town. The rooms are clean and nice. There is wifi in the lobby. There are computers to access for free in the lobby. Starbucks as well. The hotel resturants are expensive but my meal at Amici was amazing. There are several big pools and a huge hot tub. The beach front is amazing. Lots of free activities to do there. There is a giant water slide and unfortunately they never put it in the water the 7 days we were there. Hotel room service is good. There is an awesome little daiquiri shack in walking distance right across from the hotel. There are a handful of cute little shops set up across the street. There is a super market and liquor store not too far away. The number 10 bus takes you down there for $1.25. Ride the bus whenever possible and avoid taxis. Overall a great place to vacation and I would stay there again.

Do not waste money on expensive drinks at the hotel. Go to the liquor store down the street. We got plastic cups and juice at the super market!

A Worthwhile, Inexpensive Break
The Sheraton is a bit dated, and there's kind of a "vacation factory" feel going on. Chairs are cheek by jowl on the beach. Drinks and food are crazy overpriced -- even the local things like Kalik beer for $8 a can. However, we still had a really good time. The rooms are run-of-the-mill Sheraton, but provided you're getting an inexpensive package, there's nothing to really scare you away. A few last minute items: * Make sure you know they'll charge you $40/day resort fee. They say on the website that this includes wifi in the rooms. It doesn't. There isn't any (just the lobby). * Take the #10 bus from outside the hotel and head to the Fish Fry area or downtown. Much better food options. It's about 15 minutes to Fish Fry and 30 minutes to downtown. * There are a lot of party/spring types here. But mostly people were nice. * There is a market a mile or so west of the hotel. Worth checking out, if only so you can skip the $25/person breakfast bar. That's good once but not that exciting.

Go to the Fish Fry. Besides Twin Brothers, which is okay (and most famous), there are a lot of other fun, casual places to eat and hang out.

Property will be replaced
This property will be torn down to be replaced by the new Bahamar complex. Therefore, the state of the room is definitely not 4 star. Remember that an extra "resort" fee will be added to your room per night: We paid $40.00. The price for ho-hum breakfast food is through the roof. At the Amici restaurant I had a good Osso Bucco. My husband's Risotto experience was very disappointing. The risotto tasted "milky" instead of "cheesy".

Resort Bums
Resort Bums Loved It
My husband and I l had a fantastic time at the Sheraton. We travelled in October and found that the resort wasn't too busy. We found chaise loungers by the pool and the ocean every day with no problems. There were plenty of staff on-site to assist us. I didn't particularly like the location, as there wasn't much to do directly outside of the resort. When we did leave the resort, we never felt nervous or in danger. The cab rides varied from $15-$20 (to and from airport & to and from Da Fish Fry). It can get pricey if you want to leave every day. Luckily, we were there to bum around the pool/ocean/resort. The Sheraton was the perfect venue for our purposes. The food at Amica Trattoria was delicious. The staff was professional and timely. I wish there was a mini fridge in the rooms. Also, the ice machine and the soda machines on our floor were out of order or not stocked. I do believe there was a reason for this. The soda machine drinks were $1.50 and the soda at the hotel convenience store were $3.50. Other than those few gripes, it was a 4-star hotel and we had a fantastic time!

Long walk from hotel
We walked to the City Market grocery store purchased a styrofoam cooler, and some snack foods (ie granola bars, cheese, bread, and lunch meat), so we didn't have to spend $30/person per meal every day.

The hotel is a little outdated. The room was clean and the location is excellent. The staff was pleasant. The only meal I purhased was breakfast ,and the cost was twentyfive dollars. The selection of food was fair and the food was good. I would definely stay again.

Okay but not great
Our stay at the hotel was decent but not outstanding. The grounds are well kept, most of the staff is friendly & helpful and the rooms are spacious & comfortable. There seems to be a lack of ventilation in the entire building which was quite evident from the moment we stepped into the lobby. Our first room was in the east wing of the hotel and the smell of mold & mildew was so strong that even after having the balcony door open for a while was too much to bear. When I asked to the housekeeper passing by in the hall she said "yeah all the rooms are like this." I called the front desk who then sent housekeeping up with febreeze & air freshener which just made a perfumed smelling mildew odor. I called again and this time they were kind enough to change our room to the west wing which had significantly milder mildew smell. The only other room mishap was the sliding door handle snapping off while trying to open it. Another big minus is how expensive EVERYTHING is in that hotel. I can understand paying $40-50 per person for a nice dinner, but $20 for a cup of coffee, an OJ, and 2 croissants is a little ridiculous, especially since they add in a 15% gratuity for getting it @ a starbucks counter. My advice if staying here is to pack some granola bars, and your own snacks & save your $ to splurge on dinner. The buffet was even $25 per person, not including gratuity. I don't think I would stay here again, simply because of the outrageous prices for food and the crazy expense of taxis to go anywhere outside the hotel. I know there were public buses available but after the near death experience these two single girls had after getting bad directions from the bell hop we stuck to the taxis, which never cost less than $15 each way
