Nice People-Bad Resort
Traveling Trio Dec 1, 2009
Don't fall for the nice picture!!!The best thing we did was to LEAVE the resort daily to go to a beach-our smelly, dirty, ... harbour lagoon was tiny and disgusting. We stayed in an all inclusive but had to pay 300.00 to go to Atlantis for the day to have any fun. The only activity at our resort was feeding fish, the elevator that worked refused to stop at our floor! The smell was disgusting-like a toilet floating in from the harbour! "Latin Night" was a guy setting up a laptop in the lobby and letting it play music. No atmosphere-The eating area was so cold some guests even wore scarves and jackets! Multiple people complained-if I wanted winter I would have stayed home! Kids club was inside and depressing-complained that supplies were missing because guests never returned them. No effort to bring people together for activities. If you are on the toilet and someone opens the door-it wacks you in the knees! The sink was falling. If you just want to tan, go in a pool, and eat the same food every night in Antartica-this place is for you.

I must say that this hotel was absolutely a surprise. From the pleasant front desk personnel [...] to the Morgan Freeman ... look-alike bartender [...] to the cook at the pool grill [...] it just doesn't get any better. I had read that the floors were slippery with grease or some type of cleaning fluid that the hotel uses...we did not find this to be true. Our floors in the hotel were quite clean and the bedding fresh and comfortable. We were only there for an evening layover from Miami to Providenciales (Sat 24th of October), but wished we had longer to stay. Next time we will include a bit more time. We got into Nassau about 4.00 pm or so and arrived at the hotel about 5.00 pm..we didn't have time to sample the pool, but it was sparkling and quite a few people were enjoying it. The hotel overlooks boats coming and going and is within walking distance to the Atlantis Casino, if that is your taste. We ate food first at the pool bar while enjoying drinks and later went to the buffet inside. The buffet was fresh with great fish and fruit offerings, among other savory dishes. We found this to be the case also with the morning buffet, which we enjoyed before leaving for the airport. A great taxi driver named[...]took us to and from the airport and he was really cool. His company is called C & S Taxi and Charter Service and he can be reached at 242-427-1794 or 242-324-5586. We will certainly call ahead and use him the next time we go to Nassau. He is reliable and did not give us the run-around. He was on time to take us back to the airport the next morning. All in all, a wonderful trip. Do try it.

THIS HOTEL NEEDS A MULTI MILLION DOLLAR RENOVATION PROJECT FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS: LEAKING ROOF;SMALL SELECTION OF FOOD ... CHOICES; FAIR FOOD QUALITY; MORE AVAILABLE RESTAURANTS; NEEDS CURB APPEAL; BUILDING LOOKED SHABBY FROM THE OUTSIDE; NEEDS MORE ON SITE ENTERTAINMENT; THE FRONT DESK STAFF WHO CHECKED ME IN PLACED ME IN THE WRONG STYLE ROOM BUT THE ROOM I DID STAY IN WAS DAMP; THE BED WAS TOO HARD (BUT I GUESS I COULD DEAL WITH THAT). THE STAFF THOUGH WERE VERY HELPFUL AND NICE ESPECIALLY THE EXCURSION COORDINATORS.

you have to be a down to earth person-if your uppity and snoody prolly not the right joint. It does have slight ... "wet"/"mildwey" smell but its not that malodorus and for the money its totally worth it. Besides "wet" smell room was clean and pool was clean as well. The quiet little harbour/beach area was perfect for us, just what we wanted, water was clear and clean! The food was actually good and Im picky-I was plesantly suprprised I was expecting Home town Buffet style food or High School Cafe food but it wasnt bad at all totally exceed my expectations for brkfst, lunch & supper. Especially since went to another neraby hotel to visit and saw that there restuatrnats were charged $17.50 for a tuna wrap with fries I was very happy with my choice after that. We did eat out once wondering how expensive can it be and for a plate of 5 small shrimp w/ fries was $32...so its is expensive and this hotel with all inclusive plan totoally worked to our benefit. We were able to enjoy relaxing 5 days away and can still plan a wedding for next year! Thanks to Harbour Resort! If I was to ever go back I wouldnt stay anywhere else.

The pool was great. Employees very friendly and helpful. Food was delicious. Didn't want to really spend too much time in the ... rooms. They are very outdated, not that comfortable. The beach is very tiny, it is blocked off because you are on the marina side. There was always activities going on. Missed have an afternoon coffee and snack. The buffet closed at 2pm until dinner. We not able to get a cookie, ice cream or ice tea. The price was great and the food was awesome. For the price it was definitely worth overlooking the rooms. The bedding and towels were clean. Food and beverages are very expensive and eating out is very costly. Having them included in the price made is even better.

Food was good and ... had a variety.Though there is no beach by the side of the hotel the cabbage beach which is an excellent beach is only 10 minute walk.Overall the stay was enjoyable and peaceful. The island of paradise itself is well maintained with well manicurred lawns and is very clean.

Petana Aug 20, 2009
My husband and I had a great time on paradise island. The hotel is in walking distance to alot of attractions such as the ... beach, atlantis etc. We did not spend much time on the resort but we enjoyed the pool and the hot tub there. Members of the staff were helpful and friendly. The meals in the buffet was mostly americanized and a bit repetitive. Not a bad thing to have familiar foods but since we were visiting the bahamas we wanted to experience more bahamian style dishes/meals. However, there was another restaurant on the premises that you had to make reservations to eat there and the food was amazing. It was a romantic atmosphere (candle light) and dressy attire required. In that restaurant most of the food was authentic bahamian meals which were delicious and we truly enjoyed it.

The resort was great but not very entertaining. If you need entertainment you can walk to cabbage beach or the atlantis resort that has a lot of shopping, dining, diolphins, water sports and other fun stuff. Also you can check out the down town area which is a longer walk but you can choose to take the water taxi or walk across the bridge then take a public bus which we did (very adventurous!). Overall I think the resort is in a great location because it is just a few steps away from more fun and excitement. Also if you don't want to walk you can borrow a bicycle from the hotel and make the journey.
