one and a half stars

There were significant gaps in food availability at the buffet style restaurant. One of the restaurants, listed on the website as being closed in the fall of 2009 for renovations, was still not open during our visit in Novenber of 2010. After ten at night, you couldn't get any food. The activities left much to be desired. The snorkeling gear was few and not very good. The beach volleyball court was full of rocks. There were only five bingo cards. Never did find the billiard table or pingpong table listed on the resort sight. There were plenty of mountain bikes available for exploring the island but they weren't in the greatest repair. Front desk had a tendency toward rudeness and put right lying. Most of the bar staff was friendly and efficient, though there were a number that simply disappeared for long periods of time. The jets in the spa tub were never on. upon asking to have them on, none of the staff seemed to know who was authorized to turn them on. The beach/ lagoon could have used some tidying up. It wasn't attrocious but there were certainly a few too many articles of refuse to look at while snorkeling. Fixing the fence along the lagoon wall could take care of that for the most part.

Hotel needs alot of renovations

We took a tour by taxi of the Island, we did a boat excursion to a private island. Compared to other trips this hotel had nothing to offer, food was too spicey & alot of times cold. Will never go back to this resort.

Not what we expected.

The hotel was not what we expected it to be. There was not much entertainment for the family to do. We had to leave the hotel to be able to do things. The lobby always looked like a ghost town. The food was not great at all. All inclusive was good but not alot of variety to choose from. The bar grill had a foul smell at all times and I saw roaches crawling around the bar area. They let one guest bring a dog and the dog went into the pool and the staff did nothing about it. The little beach was always dirty and stinky. Where was all the entertainment on the beach? There was no music to entertain people. It was too quiet. If you are going to go there to relax then that's the place to go, but if you bring your children, then you need to go elsewhere. Just bring lots of money because there are very few hotels with all-inclusive packages. It costs alot of money to go there and the hotel was definetely not worth it. I will never go there again. The excursions were great but pricey. I just wish it would have been better for us. Hotel needs lots of work, very old fashioned.

Booze cruise and party cat were the best. The Atlantis is beautiful but the prices are ridiculous. It cost $110 per adult and $80 per child. Too much money for a one day pass. I rather spend that money on something else.

You get what you pay for!

When we arrived, they didn't have the king bed we requested. So we were told to come back in the morning before 11am to request a new room with those accomodations. We did this and had to bring our luggage to check in. We were told that a room would be available by 2:00 pm and it wasn't. We were finished with our morning activities and had no place to go until 3:00pm when our room was ready. The walls in the entire hotel were filled with mildew and it looked like it was in need of renovation. The majority of the staff was nice but the staff at the front desk had major attitudes and didn't address us very nicely. The food was great for the most part even though there were complaints of mildew around the soda machine dispenser. The good thing also was that Atlantis was about a 10 minute walk away. The club that was in Atlantis was very entertaining and the Casino was there if you had the courage to gamble. I have been to other hotels where the internet service was cheap. The internet service at this hotel was more expensive than other places I have been. I don't think it was worth using.
