Nassau Palm Hotel...Okay

We were looking for a mid-range hotel for one night before departing on our cruise. The amenities of the Nassau Palm Hotel was okay. The hotel is across the street from the beach and it is a bit of crossing busy West Bay Street to get to. Service was average, nothing to write about. The beds and bathrooms could use upgrading. If you are staying for more than just one night and looking for comfort and amenities, I would not recommend you stay at this hotel.

Not the greatest

This is not the greatest hotel but for the money it will do. The only good thing about this hotel is the free morning buffet. Which the food isn't the greatest neither. The staff was friendly, the location is probally the worst part of this hotel not in the best part of the bahamas. The pictures they put up are better then how the hotel actually looks.

"The Real Deal"

If you just planning to look or a place to sleep the hotel is perfect for your needs. The hotel wasn't that bad at all ofcourse for those that don't expect luxury and are going to visit the place and not stay in the hotel. In generally I didn't even go to the hotel that much because I was enjoying outside the hotel. The hotel is in a great area because you are real close to the downtown area and to Paradise Island. The price is good and cheap but they charge you $11 extra everyday for each person for maid and electricity service. To make the stay more better they should include free water in the rooms or downstairs because you never know when you goin to get thristy and goin to need some.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

A good suggestion to get to the hotel you could catch the 12B bus that charge you only $5 but the only problem is that they go by every 45min, is convinient because the taxi's charge you around $30 and is a waste of money. And to go to Paradise Island catch the ferry in the morning which would be only $3 and not like the taxis that charge you around $15 (if you plan to stay until really late there you gonna have to take the taxi). Enjoy Bahamas is a great place to be...

Decent accommodation

We stayed at the palm hotel only for one night. We had to pay a $22 extra charge for electricity but we had a blackout for a couple of times. Overall the staff was very nice and the hotel is conveniently located and clean. It is a good accommodation for a relatively low price.

"Unbeatable location for the price"

I was slightly skeptical about our hotel after reading a host of other reviews, however I was pleasantly surprised. Our first room wasn't done being made up, so we called down to the desk and they promptly sent someone up with a new room key for a new (and nicer!) room. Obviously, this is a two-star hotel, so it's not the fanciest or ritziest, but you shouldn't be spending all your time in the hotel with a beach right across the street anyway! Speaking of, the location is great. A 5-7 minute walk to the fish fry on the left, and a 5-7 minute walk to downtown on the right. And of course, a gorgeous beach right in front of the hotel, just across the street. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to family and friends. Great price, leaves a lot more money to be spent on excursions and food!

Entertainment tip: Short walk from hotel

The Stingray Adventure at Blackbeard's Cay was amazing! You meet up, take a short boat ride to an island, and are released into an enclosure where you get to pet, feed and hold stingrays! And you get snorkel gear to float around and check out all the fish that are in with the rays. Only about 4 hours, but definitely worth the trip. It was an amazing experience!

A nice place to stay

The hotel is in a nice location, as described. Great view of the ocean and lighthouse on Paradise Island! It does not have a lot of ammenities (maybe comparable to a Super 8 here in the US?) but this was more than made up for by the very helpful and friendly staff. They helped me with some reservations for activities and transportation even though they were not made thru the hotel.
