Dont Let The Price Fool You

It's true it's in a great location however you get what you pay for. Dont let the other reviews trick you into thinking that this is a great place to stay, it's not. The room was very smelly, it smelled like wet carpet and mold. We couldn't get a different room because they didnt have one available. The room service only came one morning, and everyday after that we had to call for room service, clean towels, and toliet paper. We found a dead cockroach in our hallway, the hotel had lots of security-dont know why. It may be cheap but you get what you pay for. Pay the extra money for a decent hotel, this one was worst than a motel.

Good for the price

It was my first time goin on vacation n i expected a bit more than i though ill recieve from the hotel. The staff at the reception appeared annoyed and rude everytime i asked a question from the momment i got there. The roomed appeared to be cleaned but the bathtub needs some serious scrub down. The rug was extremly dirty i couldnt put my foot at the floor without my sole turning black. The towels smelled bad and the water from the bath n sink tasted salty. The beds were comfy though n i did have a nice view of the ocean. Good location for goin to the beach which all u had to do was cross the street and the stores n food spots are in walking distance.

Good location BUT...

The beach is right across the hotel and downtown is within a 5 min walk. But thats all for the positive things of the hotel. Rooms are dirty, even after room service. Breakfast is ok with fresh fruits but nothing really special. Also there was an extra charge of 11 $ per person and day for energy consumption and room service, which we had to pay. But if you stay only for the night and don't mind sharing the room with cockroaches and other bugs then it is ok.

Disappointing

Overall disappointing. The facilities are not well maintained. Our first room was next to a room with many people who appeared to live there - they were loud into the wee hours of the morning; kept their door open all the time; TV blaring; and people constantly going in and out. We requested and got a new room our 2nd day there. The new room was nicer but still not well maintained. Very uncomfortable, mushy mattresses. We found two cockroaches in our beds! The breakfast buffet was not kept well provisioned during the published breakfast hours. The staff was pleasant enough, but couldn't make up for the overall experience.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

WiFi in the hotel is expensive, not available in rooms, and not always working. We found McDonald's to be the best place to get free WiFi access - about 1/2 mile walk from the hotel.

well situated but not very relaxing

this hotel is good for younger people who just need a clean place to stay for a short visit to Nassau and New providence island. It is quite well situated, short walk to the shops and activities on Bay street and also to visit Arawak Cay , cable beach and even paradise island by foot (if you like to walk ). The rooms are clean, have all the essential things you need. However is wasn't easy to have a good nights sleep due to way to thin curtains combined with big spotlights outside, it was also very noisy. The complementary breakfast was not that good but good enough to get your day started if you go early. I definitely wouldn't recommend Junkanoo beach across the street, it's quite "dirty" and full with people trying to hassle you especially at night, so go to cable beach right away. All in all good value for your money in Nassau.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

"the conch fritters" in front of the "sheraton colonial hotel" on Bay street. This is a nice restaurant with really good local food (try the steamed conch, a sort of "soup" with conch and vegetables), friendly staff, very clean and lovely authentic bahamian flavours.

Walking distance to all

The hotel itself was in a good location especially if you don't want to rent a car or take the taxi's. The beach was right across the road and you could walk right to Main Street where the Straw Market, reasonably priced places to eat and other tourists attractions are located. Although upon arrival our room had to be changed because they had us booked for a king bed instead of two double beds. Luckily it was January and not tourist season so there were plenty of rooms available. When pulling the linens down the sheets had not been changed from the last stay. Very dirty and even a cue tip left on the bed. After calling the front desk three people showed up. Head maid, and manager, and what looked like security. They did apologize and offered to change the room I decided to stay with the one I had and they quickly got me clean linens. The room and bathroom were good in size. The rug had a lot of dirty spots/stains and smelled like urine at times but when the air conditioner was on it became tolerable. I wore flip flops the whole time. I did not see any bugs of any kind nor used the pool but it looked clean. Their continental breakfast was very good and had a nice selection of pancakes, oatmeal, muffins, toast, fruit, and pastries. I would consider staying there again but only for a short stay. I was there four night's and not there during the day. I have a family member who lives there and he was able to check out a few hotel's in the same area and this was the most acceptable. For the price it was ok.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

The local's selling at the Straw Market can be overwhelming. They don't give you a chance to actually browse. As soon as you reach their booth they come up very close to you and insist you buy from them. My mom bought a few souvenirs but said she would have purchased a few more things if they had not been so pushy.
