All inclusive had so many restrictions. The big surprise was finding a piece of sharp metal in my food.

Absolutely amazing resort!!!

Would recommend Sat, Nov 14, 2015
The only thing you need to pack are bathing suits, sundresses and sunscreen...they provide the rest!!! From shampoo and conditioner even lotion in your room...to beach towels for the pool or ocean. They have free tiki huts and chairs on the beach (other hotels in the area charge you per day). The breakfast buffet is incredible with fresh pineapple and other fruits, egg white omelettes and bacon. The bar opens at 10am, which means it's 5 o'clock somewhere! Certain water sports are included, I think the only thing that costs extra are the jet skis and even then it's a very reasonable prices. You have unlimited everything, and that includes the smiles and helpfulness of the staff. The locals are very friendly and sell the most beautiful sarongs and jewelry, however, if you aren't interested just let them know and they'll leave you alone. I've been to the Melia several times, and can't wait to go back!

Quick Getaway

Would not recommend Thu, Oct 22, 2015
Upon arrival, check in was pleasant. However, the staff informed the all-inclusive buffet would open for dinner at 600pm. After traveling all day I could not wait to eat, I went down to the buffet and NOTHING. It was not open on this particular day. When purchasing an all inclusive it should be inclusive. Or at the very least state in advertising that there is limited amenities. The manager quickly brought me to one of the restaurants on site and got me in without a reservation. The hotel is dated, carpeting dirty and worn and rippled in spots. The buffet once open was nothing to write home about. On the smaller side and somewhat limited in variety and after a couple of days i no longer wanted to eat it. I have been to other all inclusives that were amazing so disappointed with this one for the price and what was offered. Also, entertainment was pretty much non existent, again after staying at other all inclusives for the same cost, same time of year that offered everything in abundance, this place just did not live up to the standard that other places do. I would not stay here again.

Cable Beach is Beautiful

Lovely resort. What you would expect for an all inclusive resort. Good food and drinks. The property is located on Cable Beach which is beautiful with powder white sand. About 15 minutes from airport and 20 minutes from Paradise Island.

Pick a different hotel

Would not recommend Fri, Sep 25, 2015
I would not recommend this hotel. The hotel was under renovations which are greatly needed. Then there was the dining experience..The outdoor dining (o grille) was closed and according to the staff it has been under construction for over a year. The market buffet was good for breakfast and lunch but it felt strange going indoors to eat on a beautiful day. The only food offered outside by the pool were hot dogs and hamburgers. The esta vida lounge had good tapas and offered late night eats. The Nikkei Asian restaurant was ok and the service was terrible. We didn't get our food for an hour and they forgot to bring items we ordered. The Aqua restaurant was good but service here was also poor and very slow. The cilantro restaurant was not good. Worst service, we didn't get a drink for 45 min and the food was below average and not worth the wait. The bartenders were very friendly at the outdoor bar. The nightly entertainment was sparse. The lobby of the hotel is the nicest part. All other areas need a cosmetic facelift and don't give you a resort feel. The rooms were ok. Beds were comfortable but the room could use updating and a good coat of paint. We would leave our room at 830 am and the housekeeping would be in the room at close to 5 pm when we returned and they would leave used glasses and dishes in the room. One day they put them in the hallway next to the door where they remained for an entire day/night. The check in is 3 but they did let us check in at 2 even thought the hotel was maybe functioning at 10 occupancy. The beach is beautiful and the tiki hits are a must for the heat but make sure you get one! There was a waitress on the beach for beverages only once during our stay. The location is great but very quiet. We traveled outside the hotel to find other entertainment. Overall I wouldn't reccomend the hotel or return

Worst Hotel Stay

Would not recommend Sun, Aug 2, 2015
My husband and I went to the Melia for a short getaway vacation. We have stayed at numerous all inclusive resorts before-and were quite surprised at how awful the Melia was. The staff was very unfriendly and not willing to help or go out of their way to assist you. Everything was unusually slow including check in. No one seemed in a rush to work or help you. When we got to our room it had not even been cleaned and the lock was broken. We were switched to a different room which was quite far from everything. Our original room was centrally located. Our room had this musky smell to it and was very outdated. While my husband was showering the metal soap dish fell off the wall and on his foot. It cut his foot and we told the hotel staff and nothing was done nor was it fixed. As for the food-the food was awful. It was pretty much not even ediable. We ate at the Italian restaurant. I ordered pasta and it was barley cooked. My husband ordered the skirt steak and it was ver fatty. Neither of us finished our meals. The Mexican restaurant was ok. The market place was not good either. There were flies on the food and nothing was ever hot. As for the liquor, the mixed drinks were even awful tasting. And you had to drink quite a lot to even get buzzed. Again to get a drink took forever. The resort was also only about 50 full when we were there so it was quite empty. No one just seemed to want to help anyone. We actually heard one worker complaining she doesn't get paid enough to work this hard and wasn't going to. Unprofessional. The overly cleaninness of the hotel left a lot to be desired. There was always garbage on the floor/ground. Everything was very outdated and need cleaning and updating. The resort looks NOTHING like it did on their website pictures. The ONLY good thing about this resort was the beach! Thank god for the beach! The water was gorgeous! Everything else was left to be desired! There is also no wait staff on the beach like their website claims. So the walk to the bar from the beach was quite the haul. Also a few of the restrooms were out of order. This left for some crowded bathrooms and dirtiness. My husband and I both said we would never stay here again. We are very disappointed with our stay at the Melia.
