REALLY CHARMING
I visited Nassau Bahamas on business recently. I stayed at Graycliff because of its close proximity to the venue and to downtown. The staff was very attentive and the Baillou room would be my choice of accomodation at Graycliff in the future. However, I found the airconditioning to be noisy especially in the quiet of the night. Altogether, I appreciated the very attractive, peacefull setting and antique decor of this hotel. Anna.

Awe Inspiring Hotel, Incredible Service.
At first, my wife and I were taken back by the room layout and the hotel and restaurant layout and then remembered that this was a 1740's home made into a hotel, and fell in love with it and the people who take care of you there. Graycliff is adjacent to the Governor's house and a short walk from most of Nassau's shopping and historic district. It is not very handicapped accessible, nor are the streets and sidewalks around Nassau, some are and some aren't. The Paradise Island properties, across the bay are much better suited for wheel chairs, etc. than the city of Nassau. I was really pleased with the friendliness and the sincerity of the people of Nassau and The Graycliff Hotel to make your stay and experiences the best that they could. My wife and I will be talking about this vacation for a very long time.

Nightlife tip:
In Hotel
Most evenings, depending on the holidays, etc., will find the restaurant open for dinner at 6:30 PM to about 10:00 PM or later, as your needs dictate. Most often there will be a piano player and vocalist in the lounge area for those that might enjoy a world class cigar and cocktails. Reservations are necessary and will let them serve your particular needs better, as they are so wanting to do.

A fantastic experience!
This hotel room was spacious and comfortable. The staff were courteous and helpful. The only problem during our stay was the loss of water power on two occasions.

Quiet and Elegant
The Graycliff in Nassau was located within walking distance to downtown shopping and the port area. The rooms were like a bed and breakfast Inn and decorated with wicker, hardwood floors, oriental rugs, ceiling fans. The bathroom was all marble and had a large jacuzzi with plenty of mirrors and lighting. The only two annoying things were the small tv in the armoire to the left of the bed which was hard to see and the plastic wrapped mattresses. The staff was more than helpful and I would definately stay there again. This was one of the nicer hotels on the island.

Shopping tip:
Short walk from hotel
The port is nearby with several cruise ships in port daily. The shopping in downtown is great and easily withing walking distance. You can also walk to the local fish fry daily for conch salad and fresh fish cooked by the locals. The taxis, buses, and horse carriages are abundant and withing a few blockes.
