So so resort.

Ok, so it's on the beach. And it has all the amenities you'd expect (pool, hot tub, bars, etc). But it's no super resort. It totally lacks any type of luxury and the property itself is worn and old. It really needs a complete design make over. If you're used to places like the Four Seasons, Ritz, W or even a good Hilton, do not go to Breezes, all inclusive or not.

There is nothing within walking distance to do at night, unless you're interested in staying at the hotel, listening to bad cover bands and watching American sports on TV in the lobby.

Manage your expectations

This was my second visit to Breezes. I went about 5 years ago with a 3 other guys and this time I went back with my wife. I would say that this place is a good value if you are on a budget, don't expect 4 -5 star ameneties/service . The food was so-so but because we were there for 3 nights it was tolerable. The restaurant they have called Garden of Eden is much better than the buffet as is the outdoor grill by the pool. My only gripe was there were no king beds available so the wife and I had to sleep on separate full size mattresses.

Resort needs maintenance

Had a very nice time at Breezes Bahamas. Many amenities and enjoyed that all food and beverages were included in the cost of our stay. While the service staff was outstanding, we found the facilities in dire need of maintenance. Our air conditionioner, alarm clock and TV did not work properly. Saw other evidence that some upgrades and repairs are needed. The food was average, at best. Many of the foods we at did not taste "as expected."

Relaxing stay for reasonable cost

Our stay at the Breezes was a relaxing experience and I have little bad to say about the property. The hotel and property were clean and the staff were extremely friendly. It is certainly not a new property, but it was well maintained. Check in and out were easy and did not take long at all. The entertainment was good, but nothing fantastic. The beach was beautiful and we were never bothered by anyone trying to sell trinkets or activities. Another plus was the absence of any young children making noise and running around all the time. The only real complaint we had was the food. Compared to other all inclusive properties at which we have stayed, the food was average, at best. The buffet was pretty much the same thing every day, and we were very surprised that seafood was almost absent (except for the same grilled grouper every day)-- no shrimp, mussels, etc. The highlight of the food was the afternoon grill out near the beach which offered burgers, salads, fries and other snacks. The cost was reasonable but compared to other places this one is simply average.

Shopping tip: Short drive from hotel

Take the bus into the city (only $1.25 each way) and visit the Straw Market if you are looking for some apparel and trinkets to take home, just make certain to haggle the prices.

Excellent value!

This was my first vacation outside the U.S., so bear in mind that I have limited experiences to compare Breezes to. That being said, I was very satisfied with the hotel. The staff and service were exceptional. They did everything possible to ensure that folks were comfortable and having a good time. The food was very good. They did a nice job of varying the buffet menu, and the on-site restaurants were very good -- both food and service. At Martino's (the Italian restaurant) they left both a bottle of white and a bottle of red wine on our table. The drinks were good and plenty, the hotel was clean, and of course the Bahamas were beautiful. I will note one strike against the hotel: the bed was a little stiff. We were so bushed by the time we got back to the room that we probably could have slept on a bed of nails, but our stay could have been a little nicer with a bed that was a bit newer. Ultimately, I would definitely recommend this hotel again, particularly if you're on a budgt. The people and the food make it worth it, not to mention the beauty of the Bahamas!

best bang for your buck!

the staff was efficient and always willing to offer directions or their help in getting you to your destination efficiently and cost thrifty. they offered the best in house entertainment and outdoor recreation. i absolutely loved the open air lobby and recreation area. there was no stuffy, closed in feeling. the massages were to die for. we dined mostly in the cafeteria because the food sometimes rivaled the dining room fare. the reception that they held for repeat guests was surprisingly delightful. in my opinion, it was the best vacation that i have ever taken. the beds were hard but that would be my only complaint. i had a wonderful, relaxing time at the breezes and would stay nowhere else.

dont go

Disaapointed with this resort, checked in and the safe in the room was broken. 5 phone calls and trips to the front desk and they finally offer another room. No Mojitos??? Buffet was hit or miss every day, either over cooked or cold. Martinos was aweful, Garden of Eden was decent. The beds are very old, hard and lumpy. The sheets dont even fit the bed. The silding door was cracked in more than one place, thought it might shatter if we tried to open it. The toilet kept running all night. The last day there was water coming through the ceiling in the bathroom! The bahamas is a great place to go, just dont stay at this place.

Great adult getaway!

This was my fifth time returning to Breezes. The staff at this hotel is top notch and always make you feel as if you were family. This is by no means the most luxurious hotel I have ever stayed at, but the atmosphere and never ending amount of activities, make up for what it lacks in the "poshness" department. Food is acceptable, again I have had better but it stills fills the belly. Beach is beautiful and with the adult only rule, a great place to have a weekend relaxing(or not!) and having fun with friends. I always say I will go somewhere else on my next vacation, but somehow always return.
