There is cable TV and high-speed Internet access in all villas, and excellent restaurants and shopping are close by in the downtown area. For water sports, the Blue Water Resort on Cable Beach cannot be rivaled, and Cable Beach is within easy walking distance.

  • Spacious three-bedroom self-contained private villas

  • Close to entertainment options
Blue Water Resort on Cable Beach Rooms

At the Blue Water Resort on Cable Beach there is a choice of villas on offer, which boil down to variations on a theme of three-bedroom garden and ocean villas. These have views across the gardens and the ocean respectively, but all have the same amenities. There is an en suite private bathroom in each villa, with a hair-dryer and standard amenities. The master bedroom in each villa has a king bed and there are also two guest rooms that each contains two beds. The beds in the guest rooms can be converted on request into two larger beds, and rollaway beds are also available if requested. There are three bathrooms in each villa, and the bedrooms and bathrooms are situated on the second of the three floors. They have private balconies with great views of the gardens or ocean. The morning sunlight reflected off the ocean comes in through the large sliding windows and sets the tone for the day. It enhances the appearance of the chic modern furnishings and the soft pastel colors on the bedroom walls.

Features
Blue Water Resort guests swim, snorkel, sail, sunbathe and fish off Cable Beach. The bus stops directly in front of the hotel and delivers guests to many downtown locations and attractions.
Dining
When guests aren't cooking their own meals, they eat and drink at Da Sand Bar & Grill, the on-site tiki-hut restaurant at the Blue Water Resort. A number of popular eateries also are nearby. A barbeque pit allows guests to host inexpensive family cookouts.

Cheap, but still not worth it

I'm not a high maintenance traveler -- I prefer to be out exploring rather than sitting in my hotel room. And with that said, Cable Beach Resort didn't meet even my fairly lax expectations. Pros: - Ok location, if you have a car rented. Close to grocery, a few restaurants, Cable Beach. Not close to downtown Nassau or airport. - Decent price. Cons: - This hotel does NOT have a beach. The waves crash way too close to the sea wall to sit on the beach. We had to drive to the Sheraton down the street to sit on a beach. - Wifi is a joke. You can't get it in your room. - Not clean. We both got bitten up every night in bed -- by what, I don't know. There were ants everywhere in the kitchen and bathroom the day we checked in. Also, a huge hairball behind the bed. Among other things. - Like a lot of New Providence, it's pretty run down. The kitchen had some nice features, but most of the furniture needed replacing. Other thoughts: - This is more like a condo rental, not a resort. Don't expect maid or room service. There isn't any. - Would benefit from a LOT of landscaping. Gravel entryway into the apartment has no curb appeal.

STAY AWAY!!!

AWEFULL!!! We arrived in the middle of hurricane Sandy and there was NO ONE at the resort. There was a letter at the Security Guard Entrance saying that they were not receiving guests due to the hurricane!! We called ahead BEFORE we boarded the flight to Nassau to make sure that the resort had power and knew about the delay. We were ASSURED that someone would be there and our rooms ready. WHAT A JOKE!!! STAY AWAY!!!

Good experience in Bahamas

the rooms were spacious good for family.we were able to cook and saved us a lot .the sorroundings not that great for teenagers.my friend and I were a little nervous whenever our teenagres tried to explore the area during the night.Im so happy that evrything in the kitchen works. But not all the door keys were working. The side glass door cant be locked so we were a little scared in the beginning but when we realized that the area was safe we didnt bother.the staff were friendly so were the locals.I wont mind coming back but my friend told me she wont and she actually booked us at the Sheraton on our last 2 days because there were a lot going on there for our teenagers.over all i will come back.and will recommend it to my friends who are looking for a budgeted family getaway.

wonderful getaway

I loved the location and my whole experience. I have stayed at the Wyndham, Sheraton and Breezes and by far this was my favorite. Cost was more reasonable, location was better, you had more privacy and felt like home away from home. I highly recommend Blue Water and plan to go back again.

Great Private Vacation

This is a great vacaqtion spot. It is a condo and not a hotel room. Plenty of room we had 1 bedroom room with king size bed and 2 bedrooms with 2 twin beds. Hugh kitchen/dining/living room. Meals are not available, we had cereal for breakfast and went out for dinner. You do have to wash your own towels if you need them during your stay, but do not have to wash them when you leave. The staff is great. There is work going on in other sections but if you don't mind a little noise the benefits out way the minuses. It is a great place depending on what you want. Privacy, no hussle, and room makes this place a plus..

Spacious Value Accommodations

Condo sized, three bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, full kitchen... you can't find more space for the money. I'm told these are former timeshare condos, and some elements are showing wear, especially windows and doors on the ocean side, which are hard to open and lock. But the layout is good, if you don't mind a lot of narrow stairs, and it's great to be able to spread out, especially if you're traveling with a family. The 2nd floor master suite is especially spacious. The view is impressive, but the room doesn't have a balcony, which is on the top level. The walk-in shower was a real pleasure. If you're going to use the coffee maker, bring your own filters (ours took a regular filter, flat-bottomed, which the local store did not carry), and be prepared to buy jugs of water at the grocery store (three blocks west) -- the tap water is foul. I especially appreciated the small safe in an upstairs closet, which provided a secure place for passports and wallets. The complex has a computer with Internet access available 7am-10pm. Our unit had a washer and dryer on the back patio, which was great for drying bathing suits in the rather humid climate. The hotel beach is small, but pleasant. The walk up and down is doable, for about half a mile either way, if you don't mind wading around jetty walls a bit. The view of little Balmoral Island across the water is a nice bonus. The pool is great and long enough for real swimming. The bar by the pool is convenient, but I preferred walking east to the Sheraton beach bar for an afternoon rum drink or local beer (pronounced kah-LICK). In general, drinks in the area seem fairly reasonable, but food is way overpriced. The only nearby restaurant on the water we found is about 5 miles west at the Compass Point resort, a funky, fun place with good food, a great view, and parking across the street. Otherwise, the neighborhood lacks much charm, and there's not a huge amount within walking distance. I would recommend the restaurant Indigo two blocks west. The Swiss bakery, hidden in a nondescript shopping center almost across the street, is about the only source for breakfast baked goods around, and the best bargain I found. If you rent a car, be prepared for a harrowing driving experience, with narrow roads, brisk traffic, and aggressive drivers (which you will become, by the end, out of sheer defensiveness). Driving on the left wasn't too disorienting, especially as the wheel of my rental was on the left, like I'm used to. But I would recommend having a navigator to remind you which way to turn out of the parking lot (a caution reinforced by the front-end collision we encountered down the road). Maps are helpful, but roads are as poorly marked as they are maintained. On the other hand, it's not a big place, so you can't go too far wrong. I would avoid driving into Nassau if you can, or pretty much the whole area south of town. There is a good free public parking lot at the east end of the Fish Fry at Arawak Cay from which the walk into town is not too bad. I didn't try the bus, but there is a stop right at the entrance to the hotel.

The restaurant at the Compass Point Resort, about five miles west, is fun and funky, in a beautiful setting, with a great staff, good food, and lively atmosphere. It seems to attract locals as well as tourists.
