Nice Getaway

Stayed in the king suite, really nice, relaxing. & inviting. The daily pastry & fruit delivery and the espresso machine was an added plus,. Close proximity to nearby shopping, entertainment & restaurants. Quiet & relaxing, exactly what I wanted. The only downfall, the lighting in the room was extremely dim, could be a lot brighter..

Perfect For Divers

Property is beautiful, and well maintained. Staff was extremely helpful for on and off property. Proximity to UNEXSO for diving make it a no brainer for divers. Choose a stateroom for the most comfortable accomodations.

Great stay in the Bahamas!!

Pelican Bay at Lucaya is in a great, easily walkable, location. The pools are beautiful, the room was very clean and had a nice balcony (we stayed in a stateroom), and the grounds are kept very nice. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again! Oh, and right next to Unexsco, perfect for tours.

Like Being at Home

The staff was soooo friendly. We got a king bed that was very comfortable. The room had all the amenities (iron, hair dryer, in room safe, coffee maker and complimentary coffee, shampoo, body wash, hand soap, lotions). It was very clean and appealing. There is a coin laundry on the premises. There is construction going on but it doesn't bother anyone what so ever. We never felt inconvenienced at all. There is a business center but we didn't make use of it. The continental breakfast (which is free) is great. A variety of breads, cereals, sandwich meats, juices, eggs, hot beverages, and fruits are readily available. We didn't eat at any of the hotel restaurants, but we did get a complimentary drink at SABOR (which is right by the pool and hot tub.) The hotel pools (three) were all very clean , well kept, and nice to use.

The food at Zorba's, Unexus,The Bar aka Puss's Bah was excellent. Go to the Fish Fry at Smith's Point. Go on the Island Combination Tour. Worth the $20. For souvenirs, the Straw Market. The International Bazaar has few stores.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

The handcrafted items tend to be cheaper. Dont settle for the sticker price. You can bargain with the sellers. Also lots of restaurants around. I thought they tended to be cheaper the farther you are from lots of hotels.

Second time and it is still wonderful!

My friend and I escaped the families last year and stayed at Pelican Bay and did again this year!!! We love this place. We had a room by the pool, spent entire days on lounge chairs reading. Nice and quiet!! At night we could walk steps to the marketplace and find any kind of dinner we were in the mood for. At night we would end up with a nightcap at the hotel bar Zabor. The employees are WONDERFRUL! The rooms CLEAN! There is a ferry if you want to visit Taino beach. The area is safe and clean. We can't say enough about Pelican Bay and the surrounding area.Next year we are thinking about bringing our spouses...but we are just thinking....The new addition is beautiful too!

There is an early bird special at many restaurants in the marketplace next door. You can have lobster for 11.95. The restaurant at the hotel is excellent too and not expensive!! The Dive-In next door has the best chicken wings too!

all-around value

Our experience at the Pelican Bay was fantastic. A great location and fantastic rooms were complimented by pleasant service by the staff. Because there were plenty of rooms available, we were upgraded to a suite without even asking. Several pools, a free shuttle to the beach, and a short walk to the casinos and shopping made for a very relaxing weekend. Highly recommend!
