Pelican Bay, Grand Bahama Island.
The hotel property, pools, restaurant etc was excellent. The room needed some attention, the mattress you could feel the springs through it. Bathroom fixtures were old and corroded. I have stayed at this property before and have always enjoyed it, I hope they update the rooms soon. I would still recomend this property, the staff here is as friendly, courteous and hard working as you will find in any hotel on the island.

Nice place for a family vacation
A nice place for a family vacation. Three swimmingpools, free ferry to beautiful beach and other swimmingpools at nearby hotel. Good service at the front desk. Close to shops, restaurants and golf links. Nearby possibility for dolphin encounters.

Nice Stay
If we could give our stay a 3.5 star rating we would. Our room was decent. I am a bit of a germaphobe so I will never say a hotel room is amazing. We had great views of the pool and bay from our window. We were close to the ferry that takes you over to Taino Beach and hotel customers were able to ride for free. We loved our little balcony. The service was ok but was usually delayed. The people were very pleasant but we had to request things multiple times from the front desk. Breakfast is at an additional cost. I chose to book through [...]because they claimed they would include a continental breakfast which we found not to be the case when we arrived. Apparently they continue to advertise this but the hotel has not been participating for quite some time. I could have gotten the stay for less money elsewhere if I had known this. We did the bonfire on the beach activity and had a good time. You get your money's worth in alcohol. The entertainment was unprofessional. There was a "fire dancer" who didn't really do much and caught a man's leg hair on fire which I am sure was not part of the act. The food was delicious but there was not enough. We really enjoyed relaxing. It was a wonderful place to do that. We ferried over to Taino Beach several times to swim in the ocean and use the beach. Across the street there was another beach we had access to that we enjoyed. The hotel has 3 pools, we used 2 of the 3. It was clear that the pools were not cleaned very frequently. Food there is pretty expensive. We requested a microwave for our room so that we could reheat left overs which was a good savings.

Great stay in the Bahamas!!
Pelican Bay at Lucaya is in a great, easily walkable, location. The pools are beautiful, the room was very clean and had a nice balcony (we stayed in a stateroom), and the grounds are kept very nice. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again! Oh, and right next to Unexsco, perfect for tours.

Great Hotel [...]
The hotel was good, not great. Rooms were clean and maids kept them that way. I was visiting for buisness and had to make several LOCAL calls during my stay. I put my credit card down in order to activate the room's phones, and was assured charges would ONLY apply to long-distance calls. To my dismay, I was charged for each local call upon checkout. But what can you do, right?[...]Its a short walk to the beach, but you've got everything you need within walking distance. Get ready to fork over about $30 per plate for dining though.

Nice vacation resort
The resort has three swimming pools so you can always find a secluded one. You can watch the yachts come and go and you have a free ferry boat to the beach, otherwise you can walk across the street to a different beach. You are right at the marketplace with a large selection of good dining options. I would definitely rebook this resort.

Not a bad place to stay
Went there for (4) days on a get together for business. The place was clean and staff was friendly. Lights did not work in some rooms, no hot water on the last day I was there. Internet is $12.95 daily and fades in and out like the cell coverage there. There is a nice view of the channel but not the ocean. Restaurants on site were good and within a very short walk. Shopping was short walk away which had drug stores, pizza, subs, Greek, Italian and many other types of food. There is a small casino near by and is easily a short walk. Ocean is not that far away and is an easy walk.
