amazing!
our room was amazing, tenth floor, center. i won over $2000.00 the first 3 days we were there in the casino. The weather was perfect, food was great, and the night life was awsome! Our favorite part was Friday night with the dinner, local talent, parade, and the fireworks. could not have dreamed for a better trip!

Great place to relax
I traveled alone (single female in my twenties) with the sole purpose of sitting on the beach and reading. I didn't want to be surrounded by tons of people and didn't want to go out to clubs. That's exactly what I got. The beach is so large that while most people stay on the side closer to the hotel, a two minute walk takes you to a less-crowded, and at times totally secluded, beach. The pools were nice, but the water was cold. It would have been nice to see more staff around ready to help. The worst part of the trip was the check in and check out process. In both cases, there was a very long line to see a representative and only two or three staff members available.

Short walk from hotel
If you get hungry--which you will--don't bother eating at the hotel restaurants. Take a three minute walk across the street to find cheaper, tastier restaurant options. Best ones: Zorba's, Le Med, and the After Deck Bar and Grill.

Wonderful time
Staff was polite - made our stay very enjoyable. Surprised the hotel was not in full swing, a lot of the restaurants were not open. The location is fabulous - can't be beat.

Not the best for business travelers
Even if on a business trip, get an ocean view room - there are vents on the roof of the adjacent building that are so loud it is hard to even talk to someone when on the balcony, and you can still hear them when the doors are closed. The WiFi is constanly dropping connections, the wired internet is fine though. The TV reception reminds me of the 80s (grainy). There is no mini bar - so if you're dead tired and just want to have a beer you still have to call, wait for and pay the room service. Across the street you get everything at less than half the price. The room service food is not good. The several restaurants on premise are good, but have a weird rotation thing going so only 2 or so are open at any given time - there are many restaurants across the street where, again, you pay less than half, and they are open every day. I bet this is a great hotel if you intend to make use of all the activities they offer, but if you're only there for business, i think there are better - and less expensive! - choices.

Across the street - Port Lucaya Marketplace. You'll get everything you need at at least half the price. There's a bar that offers 2 beers for 5 dollars, and they'll give it to you closed and in a bag if you ask for it. A Starbucks will be opening there soon.

Nice Getaway
The Hotel and facilities/property were all good . Unfortunatly not all the restarants were open. Very casual, low key and relaxing on the site. Limited off site activity for shopping etc,. except for the Lucaya Market place.

outstanding vacation
This is was my 4th trip to Lucaya resort, the first 3 being under the Westin name. The GRAND LUCAYAN as it is now known is first class all the way. The security made their presence known everywhere. and cleanliness was throughout the entire resort. I would rate my stay as 5 star in every aspect of my vacation. Restaurants were very limited due to the time of season and many were closed. Not many tourists, which allowed for an easy pick of any activity or pool side relaxation. If your goal is to totally relax and enjoy the surroundings, this would be a great pick, easy in and out of the country and not far from home so it is a short travel

Grand Bahamas Lucaya
The resort is amazing with the large pools and an outdoor jacuzzi. A few of the restaurants at the hotel were closed due to low season. Iris was our favorite at the hotel, casual and good food. One night the power was out for 20 mins. without an explanation. My husband went to the lobby and before he was able to reach our room the power went back on. Overall, the hotel is nice and some of the staff were helpful but not all of them, a few didn't care if you were there or not. I would definitely recommend the ocean deluxe suite, the view is spectacular.
