Beautiful beach

Super comfortable beds and linens, with thick towels and excellent cleaning of rooms daily. White sandy beaches and great location to Marketplace, where there is a variety of restaurants to choose from.

Take the public bus at $1.25 a trip, it's much cheaper then cabbing it.

Beautiful beach

The beach is white powder with lots of lounge chairs and a lifeguard who is on duty most of the time. The online ad said there were 3 pools, but you have access to about 7 pools with the included Lanai property, which are very quiet. The rooms are spacious, bright and clean and the beds and pillows are extremely comfortable. The sheets and thick towels were changed daily. I would not recommend the all inclusive since many of the restaurants were closed onsite, so it would limit your options. The marketplace, right across the road had lots of restaurants to choose from. You have to ask for bottled water from housekeeping although we drank the tap water with no issues. We had a problem with our air conditioner and maintenance was to our room within minutes and fixed it. We caught the Public bus where the bus stop is a few steps away for $1.25 and they will drop you off pretty much wherever you wanted along the route. We went to Solomon's (grocery store) to buy fruit and groceries to keep in our room. Although it can be a little pricey,iIt's a good place for sun, beach and relaxation.

Winter Paradise Escape

Overall a very nice place to stay. Staff and amenities were very friendly, inviting, and made the stay even a little better. The room was adequate with a few things that didn't work or were not up to "states" code but nothing that got in the way of the fun and warmth. Lots of conveniences that made it a great experience that was hard to come home from.

Thieves

We left money in a safe. Had to change rooms ( the upgrade tonOcean view was no longer valid ) . Moved to another room on the same floor.two hours later we realized we had forgotten our valuables in the safe in the previous room. Immediately called the front desk who activated security . After 40 minutes and 4 phone calls, a security man , Mr, Gibson, shows up a younger man with our belongings from the safe: $5000 were missing . Had to file a report at the police station. The hotel showed no interest to investigate the theft internally. A bunch of crooks. Stay away from this place.

Empty Nester's Celebration

My husband and I are recent empty nesters and wanted to have our first non-kid vacation. The Grand Lucayan/Bahamas vacation was wonderful. The hotel it'self is a little out dated. A few things didn't work properly...the cable reception, the tv remote and the wifi. They did fix the wifi after a day. The grounds are beautiful and well-maintained. The views are breath taking. Overall, a 3 star hotel, with 5 star grounds and views. Totally worth the money.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Have dinner at "Cappacinos." I had the filet minon and my husband had the lobster, both were very good. Finish it off with the dark chocolate mousse and a cappacino and you'll be delighted.

Beautiful comfortable hotel right on the beach

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. Clean comfortable hotel. Located right on the beach. The food at the restaurant was very good -- buffet for breakfast and dinner. We were able to taste unique local foods. The pool was clean and very nice. They had movies after dark either outside or in the conference hall. The mall and shops next to the hotel were quite entertaining. It was a very relaxing vacation. Highly recommended.

Dining tip: In Hotel

The service and food at the restaurant in the hotel was much better than many of the restaurants outside. Local restaurants outside have very slow service. The in-hotel restaurant served a buffet for breakfast and dinner -- a little more expensive but well worth it.

Try the conch salad across the street at the marina. Also try Zorbas restaurant same location. We were there for Dr. Myles Munroe Global Leadership Conference.

Pleasant stay at Grand Lucayan

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Location can't be better! It is close to a local market where majority restaurants are there. The resort had everything you need.
