Great place to stay for the money

We had a 3 week stay and could not have enjoyed it more. We found most negative info in previous reviews to be false.Never had any problems with bath towels, beach towels, bugs, ac,time share solicitations, dripping water, or thin walls with other rooms. The room was clean and comfortable, although not huge and not new. The mini kitchen with small refrig, microwave, toaster and coffee pot was great. We bought groceries and made our bfast and lunch to save some $. The staff was very helpful and very friendly. The beach and pool accross the street were both wonderful. The only cons were no elevator, and we were on the 3rd floor, so if you can't climb stairs you may want a 1st floor room, but it was nice not having anyone above us( and we liked being on the marina side of the hotel). And the shower was missing the plastic cover for the hot/cold , so it was just a metal lever, which worked great. If you have to have a fancy, new room and an elevator, the Flamingo Bay may not be for you. But if you want a comfortable room with great staff, at a price 25-50% less than other hotels, then I recommend Flamingo Bay.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

The beach, bar and snorkeling at Paradise cove was very nice. We rented a car twice, for 2 days each, and drove out there one afternoon(about $55 day with 2 day minimum). Also Biships Point to the east end was a nice beach with nice palapa bar and restaurant, but again you would need a car.Would recommend Eclipse beer, if you're a beer drinker. Better than Sands or Kalik. You can get it for $1/bottle at the duty free store or liquor store in Port Lucaya. We liked Shenanagins restaurant/bar in Port Lucaya

A Nice LIL' Hotel.

Yes, It was a nice inexpensive lil' hotel. You get what you pay for...Yes, For the right price I would stay there again. There is a hourly round trip shuttle boat to port Lucaya which charges a fair price of $5.00 dollars round trip.

Great location, COOL pool!

We got a surprisingly nice room that overlooked the marina and included a microwave, mini=fridge, plates and silverware, and coffee maker. The mini-fridge was not a 'stocked bar.' Very pleasant room decor and comfortable bed. Our first morning there we discovered that the shower did not work properly; we reported it and it was repaired that day. The hotel is actually a large complex with a neighboring all=inclusive option. There is free WiFi service at the Welcome Center just down the road slightly from where we stayed. The enormous non-diving pool is also on the all-inclusive property and another very easy walk; it is so COOL! It has a waterpark-style slide, swim-up/walk-up bar, three water 'caves' and in-pool tiled beds for tanning! It is so fun! You will need to get a taxi or rent a car to get to this hotel from the airport, but it is not too far; a one-way taxi fare cost about $25.00 US Dollars. There is a very nice beach on the other side of the pool at the all-inclusive and as a guest at this hotel, you have access to it as well. There is security on site and a restaurant at the all-inclusive also; we did not eat there because of the activities we chose to do, but saw many people enjoying what looked and smelled fabulous. This hotel is surprisingly nice for the cheaper price; we would stay here again! Oh, and vehicles are driven on the LEFT-hand side of the road here, so be careful.
