Convenient Southbank hotel near downtown appeals to budget travelers
Modern, affordable and efficient, the Travelodge Hotel Southbank Melbourne is ideal for business travelers and vacationers on a budget. The property is located just south of the Yarra River in a neighborhood called Southbank, but it is a short walk from the hubbub of downtown Melbourne. Rooms are spacious and clean; some even connect to form suite-like accommodations. While there is no restaurant on-site, breakfast is available daily in the guest lounge (fees apply).

The hotel had comfortable lighting and a very helpful staff. The location was great - a nice walk along the river to the convention center. It doesn't have any fitness room, pool, or room service, but there is a kitchenette in every room, which was very handy. This made up for some problems I ran into: heating in my room didn't work, and the shower pressure was low. The staff was nice enough to bring in a space heater so I felt comfortable.

Nice hotel in a central convenient
Nice hotel in a central convenient location on Southbank. It's tucked off the main drag so quiet at night and the black out curtains were great. Easy access to flinders street station and plenty of dining options around. Reception staff and cleaners were friendly and efficient.

The Hotel is in a fantastic location
The Hotel is in a fantastic location ,virtually sharing the footpath with a dozen quality restuarants and bars, alongside the famous Yarra River,& only a short stroll to Casino & Melbourne CBD.Secure undercover parking was appreciated,check in was swift ;complete with smiling staff. Very comfortable & clean bedding& a Sensibly laid out ensuite.

right place, right price
The meeting at the neighboring really expensive hotel was steps away, and the transportation hub at Flinders St. Station is an easy walk. With an 8-day stay, I greatly appreciated the microwave, fridge, sink, and dishes. The seating area (love seat, coffee table, round table and two chairs) worked well. My only quibble was the short shower curtain that let water spray around the bathroom floor.

Excellent value for money acco
Excellent value for money accommodation. Not the most upmarket but for the price, it was excellent. And the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Close to the MCG, city and lots of nice bars and restaurants. Would definitely stay there again..
