The Rydges North Melbourne is conveniently located close to the Melbourne CBD as well as 10 minutes drive from the city centre and 20 minutes from the airport. The Melbourne Zoo, Colonial Stadium, Victorian Arts Centre, National Gallery of Victoria as well as the Melbourne Cricket Ground are the major attraction

The staff were very obliging and pleasant . The meals were excellent. The room spacious and well equipped withe the exception of the airconditioner which only blew cold air resulting in me catching bronchitis on our last day which made it difficult to drive home. Hope you can fix this on our next visit

The hotel itself was in a good
The hotel itself was in a good location and easy access to wherever you wanted to go in the CBD. The room was just perfect but unfortunatel. The shower was not constantly hot and I had to adjust it many times. I understand it's currently installing new carpet but the old carpet detracted from the hotel somewhat. Overall, once everything has been completed the hotel is excellent for location and price.

Not really comparable to similar type of hotels I stayed in terms of rate. Expensive. Carpet needs upgrading/room locker be provided.Room does not necessarily give a true account of what it is displayed as.I had to request to physically see if I was put in a room for which I had paid for. Generally friendly staff.Charged for a call that I never made!!It should have been resolved;hopefully.

The staff on the desk seemed disinterested, and in one case incompetent I am not given to criticism as I am a frequent traveler take the good with the bad., I was also unimpressed that the hotel charges a surcharge for using all credit cards..most annoying the first time this has happened to me apart from AMEX.. overall an ordinary stay

good experience
The hotel was in a good location - convenient to take the tram into Melbourne City -- or walk to Errol street where there are restaurants and the courtesy gym. Urban Burger was a great place near by to get food. The design of the room was really nice and modern, good color scheme of taupe and brown.

Go to Urban Burger on Errol St. and try the "Blissful Buddha" vegetarian burger -- its awesome! Their chips are crisp on the outside and soft on the inside -- perfect. Walk a little further down Victoria Street to the Victoria Market to find market shopping on the weekend.

The good thing was the room size
The good thing was the room size and restaurant, there is not food available around the hotel,but doesn't matter because the food at the hotel was good. Internet and phone calls pricey.
