Elegant historic hotel in downtown Melbourne overlooks Yarra River
Overlooking the Yarra River, the Rendezvous Hotel Melbourne is one of the few truly historic hotels of Australia. The property was built in 1913 as the Commercial Travellers Club, and has been restored to retain the feel and style of the early 1900s. Of course it offers modern amenities, as well, including high-speed Internet and more. The on-site restaurant, The Grill, mixes traditional Australian cuisine with modern Asian fusion.

Very pleased overall - would recommend
I stayed here for 2 nights at the end of a long trip to Australia. Overall, I was very happy with it. The room was very clean, fairly quite and pretty comfortable. My main complaint about the room is that it could have used additional lighting. Staff was courteous and helpful. Location in the central business district is great. Convenient to many attractions and public transportation. Right across the street from the Flinders St. Station. I would stay again if I returned to Melbourne.

Some really great gelato on the 2nd floor (or what Australians would consider the 1st floor) of the Southgate mall across the river.

A beautiful old hotel in a great spot in Flinders St. Check out the bar exclusively for hotel guests on the first floor. Commerce room was adequate for our needs. Very comfy bed, drapes didn't let in any light so good for sleeping. Would use it again.

I found the staff extremely pleasant
I found the staff extremely pleasant and helpful. The room was excellent along with a very pleasant bathroom. Our towels were renewed every day which I found excellent. We were upgraded and it was very quiet where we were in room 126. The location is very, very central, we walked just about everywhere, enjoying the cosmopolitan lifestyle of Melbourne. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay Rendezvous, 10/10.

I had a room on the second floor.
I had a room on the second floor. It was at the end of the corridor away from the lifts. The room was comfortable but there was a constant noise outside during the night. It sounded like the "hum" of an air conditioning system

Small but nice
the rooms are small but the location and staff are great at this hotel. This is an old hotel with a lot of character. A big bonus is internet is free for up to 3 hours per day. I would stay here again. Lots of restaurants are within close walking distance.

I was very pleased with Rendezvous
I was very pleased with Rendezvous Hotel, Melbourne location. My husband and I walked everywhere with ease and the times we needed a taxi, there was one standing out front of the hotel at our convenience. The staff were very helpful and both check-in and check-out were promt and pleasant.

Situated on Flinders we were fairly
Situated on Flinders we were fairly centrally located. The room although clean looked dingy and was not that large. However it seems the hotel may be refurbishing as two weeks later we stayed at the same hotel and were put in a modern very well furnished room. It may be worth asking when checking in if you can have one of these rooms as they are much nicer. The front desk and concierge were all very friendly and exterely helpful. Must be a good hotel as the Sinagpore air crew stayed at this hotel
