Review of Old Woolstore Apartment Hotel Hobart (The)
Niskayuna, New York
Feb 13, 2013
The hotel is in the city's warehouse district, which has been spruced up. It's within a few blocks of nice restaurants, a grocery shop, and pharmacy, plus about 15 minutes' walk to the waterfront.
Internet isn't free, it's $5 per 24-hours,
renewable with a new code from the front desk each day.
Parking was adequate but a little tight in an area behind the hotel. We never got shut out but a couple of times we took the last spot.
The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. The kitchen and bath were more than adequate in size and amenities.
Front-desk staff were aloof but got the job done. The cleaning staff (mostly Filipina it seemed) were consistently friendly, smiling and belting out a hearty "good morning" when spoken to.
Overall it's a good hotel, and I would not hesitate to stay there again.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Short drive from hotel
Go to Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary in the morning and Louisa's Walk in the afternoon. Can do both in one day, and that will have been a fun and memorable day!
