Perfect Stay
The hotel room was very large and had a kitchenette with everything you could need, including stove and pans for cooking in addition to a microwave. Tea/coffee maker and supplies replenished daily. Good bathroom facilities and toiletries, and iron with ironing board. There's a cafe, and business centre on the ground floor which has several computers with free internet, also free unlimited wifi in hotel rooms - a well-appreciated and unusual bonus in an Australian hotel. Daily newspapers and all kinds of top magazines offered free to guests. The hotel is very central to everything, including the Tourist Info Office which has literally tons of info on trips around Tasmania, and the staff there will make all the bookings for you; also just a few minutes walk to the harbour with beautiful old boats moored, good fish and chips and outstanding views. This is the best value for money hotel we've stayed at in a long time. The only thing that would have made it better would be if breakfast had been included in the price. The staff were friendly and helptul, and after we checked out let us store our luggage there whilst we went off for a few days exploring National Parks. Good tip: if you're in Hobart on a Saturday, the Salamanca Market is a must-visit, with over a hundred stalls of locally-made crafts, books, clothes, great food and live music.

Australia is very, very expensive - more than England, so if you're Down Under for an extended period you will appreciate when hotel rooms have kitchenettes so you don't have to always eat out, and the Coles supermarket chain is a good place to buy reasonably priced food.

Terrific Stay
Arrived early, but Thomas McCarroll, the front office manager, went out of his way to immediately get me checked in and situated. New & modern room with spotless bathroom including super shower. Great floor-to-ceiling view of Mt. Wellington. Free internet in room & free printer in lobby lounge. Washers & dryers on premises. Cheap $5 happy hour & fast convenient breakfast. All told, great room with awesome staff in a prime location with easy access to all of Hobart. What more could you want?!? Best hotel of my entire 3-week trip across Australia from USA.

For cheap eats & drink, check out Wellington Centre, a 3-minute walk across from hotel up Argyle Street. There's an Indian curry restaurant, an Asian noodle counter, a build-your-own sandwich bistro, as well as Woolworth's food & Thirsty Camel liquors.

This Hotel is in a good location
This Hotel is in a good location close to the Hobart waterfront - 5 minute walk. The hotel is very modern with the rooms being of good size for 2 people without being large compared to other 4 star hotels. The staff are friendly and helpful with basic requests. Would recommend this Hotel for the price and location.

Hotel Collins is beautifully and
Hotel Collins is beautifully and tastefully decorated. The rooms are a great size and all ameneties are provided. The staff are very polite and helpful. This hotel is ideally positioned for visting the waterfront, the shopping centres and access to the main highway is close by.

Very centrally located, walking
Very centrally located, walking distance to everything. Extremely clean. Staff were very friendly and very helpful. Didnot eat at Hotel Cafe nor ordered room service, so cannot comment on food, although menu looked appetising. Although parking is in an adjacent multi storey carparking facility, it is easily accessed. Ignore sign "Carpark Full" as they have reserved parking for Collins Hotel guests. Only negative comment is we found the room a little on the small side, but would stay there again when visiting Hobart. Bed was very comfortable.

Staff were friendly, helpful,
Staff were friendly, helpful, polite and welcoming, msking the stay good from start. The dining facilities and food were good with great staff. Only complaint was parking - staff did not know what they were doing & did not communicate with one another. Instead sending us from bottom to top & back again.
