The property has a serene guest lounge with a large open fireplace and views out to Cradle Mountain. Guests have access to a music, games and book library. Cradle Mountain winter experience

My family and I enjoyed our stay at the Wilderness Village very much. The rooms were very clean and spacious. We were impressed by the kitchenette, although small, everything that you could need was there. Along with the expected cutlery and crockery were saucepans, sharp knives, cooking utensils and wine glasses. The heating was excellent, it coped with the snowy conditions with ease. We intend to go back again.

Fantastic and value for money

Location wise it's one of the best as it's situated pretty much outside the entrance to the paid entrance area. Except for pepper lodge but they're a tad level higher and prices are at least twice as much so cradle village is really excellent for its price. Room's clean and tidy, well equipped, sufficient to whip out a meal if one wishes. One of the downsides is that they don't provide free wifi. At this time of age it's really ridiculous to ask for $5 for an hour of wifi usage. It just makes u look stingy. But then again it's australia, not Asia, where everything is much slower and less efficient. Wild animals running around at night, thus really fun and interesting. Wombat came onto my balcony for my case. Service was good. Didn't try their restaurant, but looks not too bad. Might be worth a try. Food around is definitely expensive so prepare to cook if ur not willing to splurge.

Make use of their facilities and whip urself a meal instead of dining out as it's expensive around the mountains. So purchase groceries before coming in.

Perfectly located

We literally only slept in the room food one night, so didn't use the village amenities. The location is perfect and we were very excited at our animal visitor to put balcony, however the cottage was very cold and the heater took a long time to heat the area.

An ordinary experience in an extraordinary enviroment

Cradle Mt is about enjoying the outdoors and taking in natural beauty. So one can put up with what was a basic accommodation experience. None of the Cradle Mt accomm looked particularly flash Stayed 2 days in standard studio apartment. It was clean and contained the basic requirements expected of 3 star accommodation. But don't expect anything more - for example the seating provided is not particularly comfortable and the balcony outlook is not picturesque. The guest lounge area did not look welcoming but there were renovation going on. Once completed this area may be more comfortable. WiFi access cost was quoted $10 for an hour! rooms are serviced every two days. The superior studio accomm is newer and looks more inviting but costs a bit more.

great accommodation and good value for money

We were surprised to find that the moat basic cabin had 4 beds, so great value for money if you are traveling with a family. Very close to cradle mountain is another positive. Keepin mind, the cabins have a full kitchen but no restaurant within the village. But, cooked meals are only 500meters away.

Cosy romantic accommodation :)

The studio style chalet is perfectly equipped inside, with a rather deceiving exterior. We did not have any issues with being close to closeby chalets, even though we were concerned initially with some reviews. The kitchen is nicely equipped for 2, with a sparkling clean shower screen in the bathroom to match. Closeby to the Cradle Mountain hiking area. Good experience.

Cradle Mountain Wilderness Village

I would recommend the Wilderness Village as you are on the edge of the National Park and walking distance (especially if you ask nicely about the staff tracks rather than using the roads) to the information centre and the Chateau. We had the premium spa room and it was fantastic. Very private and a well laid out room with a spa bath overlooking the mountains. The Chateau is great to visit for their facilities while staying at the cheaper (yet more private and less hotel style) at the Wilderness Village.

Great accommodation at the doorsteps of Cradle Mountain

The studio cabin that we stayed in was lovely, with the rusty exterior hiding a very cosy, nice & an extremely clean interior. It contains most of the cooking facilities that we required for a 2 night stay with home-cooked meals (microwave, halogen cooktop, fridge etc). The 24/7 movie channels are also an added bonus. There is also a courtesy bar (24/7 access via room key and payment via honour system) in the guest lounge, complete with CD & boardgames for free loan during our stay. Guest laundry is also available $4 (4 x $1 coins) right next to the reception. The water is tainted yellow, probably a natural phenomenon of the Cradle mountain, however the bathroom still sparkles as fresh as it looks new. Reception opens till 6pm, and all late arrivals after would have their room keys left in the after hour box so it's well-catered for late arrival. The only constructive comment to the staff is to show more flexibility with the request for late check out. 10am is normal, and it would be reasonable to allow for a slightly later checkout time, when the village is not busy of course. Also a slight warning that all units are quite closeby to each other. Overall a very pleasant stay!

Cradle Mountain is a natural wonderland, remaining unspoilt & as such not as commercialise as other countries of similar natural wonders. As such, it is highly recommended that you BYO everything you need (wine, food etc) for the duration of your stay.
