Rendezvous Reef Resort Port Douglas

The only let down was that it was abit further out of Port Douglas. Although the bus shuttle comes convientely past the hotel every 15mins. Would stay there again definetly

Pools were fantastic although we only used the one closest to our villa. Two bedroom standard villa was great with flat screen TV and DVD player. Fridge and dishwasher were not late models but worked so no complaints. Grounds were extensive and well maintained. With a car the location was perfect. Relying on a bus would have been more difficult as resort was on way out of town with a fair hike into the centre.

Resort was very clean and well set out. The pool areas were wonderful for both families and couples. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had a very pleasant stay!

My daughter and I spent 4 nights at the Rendezvous Reef halfway through a two week Australian vacation. We stayed in the one bedroom deluxe unit, which is actually a condominium with a full kitchen, living room, laundry area with washer and dryer, two full baths and an upstairs bedroom with a balcony. It was not luxurious, but was very comfortable, clean and quiet (no running water or slamming door sounds during the night that occur at even the best hotels). It was great to have some room to stretch out and to be able to do some laundry. The price was comparable to an average hotel room. The grounds are nice, with several pools and gardens, again nothing super new or fancy, but still pleasant. The location is a short distance to the center of Port Douglas and there is a regular shuttle bus you can catch into town for a small fee. They offer free broadband internet and will loan you an ethernet cable, but it wasn't working for a good portion of the time we were there. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially in the restaurant. There is no daily maid service, but you can pay extra if you want to schedule it. The only negative experience we had was when we checked in after 7PM, coming in from the airport in Cairns. It was already dark and they just handed us our keys and a map and sent us out dragging our suitcases along dimly lit paths trying to find our unit! A quick trip in a golf cart would've been nice. Other than that it was great, especially the quiet nights that allowed us to sleep well.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff are friendly and helpful, the price was great and the resort itself is lovely and beautifully landscaped. We stayed in an (unrenovated) 2 bedroom apartment. The kitchen was big and clean but the utensils need updating (cutting knives were bent/broken, can opener didn't work etc) and there is only a stove top and microwave convection oven (not fan forced oven). Pillows in the bedrooms smelt a bit musty but we washed the pillow cases and it was OK. Overall, very happy with the resort and would stay there again.

A very large complex some distance out of the town. Not well provided in terms of kitchenware. Nice pool and it did have 3 new tv's, although no tv guide or instructions.

The room I was in was recently renovated except for the carpet which was disappointing as it gave the room a damp smell. Otherwise this hotel is very comfortable and facilities were good

Have stayed here before. Perfect for families (we have 2 kids 10 + 12yrs), looks lovely since re-furbishment, but few disappointing changes - cooking facilities changed from regular oven + microwave to just convection microwave; sofas are hard & square & bloody impossible to relax on; flat-screen TVs are great but fixed in awkward position in the middle of room; main pool used to be heated but not now - was absolutely FREEZING in July even though weather was warm (28c). Wish the bar/restaurant by pool had lunch, snacks & drinks all day, not just evening. Overall good though & most likely to stay here again in future & have recommended to friends.

we have stayed at this resort previously and really enjoyed it. everything was great from check in to check out and it is a lovely resort. it is about 3kms from the main street so with young children and no car you are reliant on the local bus which can become expensive. my only other comment is that the pools are very cold.

Stayed in a 3 bedroom villa with our 3 kids. Kids loved the pools (altho' a bit on the cool side in the middle of 'winter') and the restaurant did really lovely food including a kids menu that didn't include nuggets and chips as the star item (several notches above). Restaurant overlooks one of the pools and has space for the kids to play so made for a very easy evening out. Can walk to the quiet end of 4 mile beach but probably a bit far for young kids to make it there and back. Would stay again for family trip.
