i went to cairns alone to go diving, i just wanted a hotel close to the main area in town and the marina where i was going to catch my diving boat. this hotel provided both-- perfect location to get to everywhere on foot. and it was beautiful-- beautiful lobby, great room with a balcony, even though it was overlooking the city, i still had a glimpse of the marina, very clean, very big, especially for one. i didn't use any of it, but there was a great pool, spa, lots of bars and restaurants in the hotel, looked pretty good. i highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed at the Sebel Cairns
We stayed at the Sebel Cairns for 8 nights, thanks to a great rate we found on hotelclub.com. Perfect home away from home. The rooms are large, roomy, clean and comfortable with a great harbour view. Valet parking is expensive at $20 per day but we just used street parking instead. Hotel is in good condition, pity we could not use the pool as it was too cold and the spa just was not heated enough. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would stay there again based on the reasonable rates, the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms, and the excellent location of the hotel. Thumbs up Sebel!

Very welcoming and friendly staff,
Very welcoming and friendly staff, we were on a special rate and the hotel was therefore excellent value for money. Rooms were spacious but we were opposite the Casino on a Sat night so that did disturb our sleep somewhat!

The Sebel was unfaultable...a
The Sebel was unfaultable...a fantastic hotel that I would be pleased to frequent again. My only disappointment was that, despite a phone call at the time of booking ,on our arrival the hotel had no record of our booking, which resulted in a very uncomfortable wait of over 10 minutes!

I was given a room on the 13th
I was given a room on the 13th Floor with ocean views and could not have been happier. For those with kids, the pool deck is outstanding. The staff were friendly and for those that like a flutter, the casino is accross the road. The hotel is perfectly placed to easily walk to the piers for barrier reef cruises and all restaurants etc. Price was outstanding and the room was big

A nice hotel lobby, but set back
A nice hotel lobby, but set back from the waterfront with the Reef Casino, in the way unless on one of the upper floors. Staff very helpful. Had to pay to use the room safe per day and lots of other charges such as internet use but the hotel is considerably cheaper than some of the other hotels where these features are standard.
