All of the hotel's 176 rooms have private balconies. The hotel also has a Brazilian churrasco restaurant, bar, and outdoor pool. The Pacific International has five function and conference rooms.

Highlights
  • Directly across from the Reef Fleet Terminal, departure point for trips to the Great Barrier Reef
  • Private balconies overlook the harbor or park lands
  • A Brazilian churrasco restaurant right on the property
  • Meeting and conference space in a beautiful location that will impress clients
Rooms

The hotel's 176 rooms blend contemporary and traditional design elements. Rooms are spacious and light thanks to pale wall colors and floor-to-ceiling windows. All rooms have private balconies that look out on the harbor or the city's park lands. King-sized beds are converted to twin beds upon request. The hotel also offers a family bunk room for larger groups. The family room features two king beds and a set of bunk beds suitable for children two to 12 years old. Features

The all-you-can-eat Bushfire Flame Grill restaurant puts a Brazilian spin on Australians' love for grilling. Waiters bring a buffet's worth of grilled meats and other dishes directly to the table. Guests can also relax with a drink or snack at Sugarcan Rhumbar. The bar's specialty cocktail menu uses native bush ingredients and locally grown tropical fruits.

Dining

Bushfire Flame Grill Restaurant
We guarantee a truly unique dining experience at the Bushfire Flame Grill. Situated on the hotel lobby level and overlooking the Cairns Esplanade Parklands, Bushfire has become a must do experience for both locals and visitors alike. Unique dishes are created daily using fresh regional ingredients from the Atherton Tableland district, such as Mungalli Creek cheeses, sugar cane, Gagarra rainforest honeys and tropical fruits and seafoods from South Australia and Tasmania. Churrasco (shoo-rhas'co) are cooked on the red hot heat of our special Brazilian inspired Flame Grill. Meter long skewers of succulent Australian meats are gently roasted on the Churrasco grill and served by waiters directly to your table until you are fully satisfied - this is called rodizio which means all you can eat. Accompanying Brazillian-inspired side-dishes and sauces to complement are placed and replenished in the centre of your table.

Good location, roomy

Great location, a block away from some key places (Reef Fleet terminal, Esplanade, lagoon, Woolworth's grocery store). Restaurants and shopping literally on the same block (Perotta's at the Gallery on Shield's/Abbott St is good, although a bit pricey), and more within a few more blocks. There's a tourism desk in the lobby (with brochures), and they'll make reservations for tourist attractions (no additional fee). 10-15min drive from airport. It's almost the same cost to take taxi if >2ppl; shuttle is a only couple of dollars less, and also makes stops along the way, etc. There's a nice pool too, room is quite large, and even has a small balcony (ours overlooked the hills, a parking lot, and the ocean). Overall, pretty satisfied with our stay.

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

For long distance calls or internet, get a Global Gossip card. Global Gossip has several convenient locations around town (including the Woolworth's grocery around the corner), and they have phones (free to call Global Gossip access number) and internet computers - you use the same passcode for both. Convenient, cheap and easy!

Pacific International Cairns AU

Rooms nice and clean. Great location, this hotel has a nice small pool. The man at the desk told us we paid so little that the internet in the lobby was not free for us!! Don't miss the Great Barrier Reef trips at the end of the street and the night market. Lots of things to see here! (rainy season or not!)

This hotel was one of the first

This hotel was one of the first high rise hotels 11 floors built in Cairns. It is in a prime position which was the main reason I booked it. It is currently undergoing refurbishment which the rooms really do need. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Everything in the Cairns CBD is within easy walking, and supermarket just round the corner. Casino is directly opposite the hotel, and lots of eateries close by. If you can get this hotel on a good deal for about $85-95 then it's well wothwhile, and very handy to everything. I would stay there again.

Location: Its a stone's throw

Location: Its a stone's throw from the Reef Terminal where you go for the Great Barrier Reefs. Also directly opposite the Casino, beside the DFS and just a short walk from cafes, restaurants and souvenier shops. However, if you're going for the Kuranda Scenic Railway, it is abt 20-25mins walk from the Cairns Central Railway Station, which is also about the only shopping mall in Cairns. Service: Friendly and prompt. No qualms about it. Overall: I will definitely stay there if I visit Cairns again.

Location is the drawcard for this

Location is the drawcard for this hotel. Being right on The Esplanade, it is located across the road from The Lagoon and many restaurants and main shops are in very close walking distance (2-10 minutes). Recommended especially to people new to Cairns. The breakfast buffet is great. Standard room is very basic, great bed, had view of the ocean. Normal rates can be a bit dear but worth seeing if there are specials.
