Private rooms, stunning views
If judged on nothing more than location then the Mercure Hotel Harbourside is a winner. The Mecure is located on the Cairns Esplanade and offers a break from the day's activities without taking guests off the beaten path. Guests seeking easy access to a good walking or jogging path need only run right out the hotel door. Many of the rooms -- all with private balconies -- offer stunning views of Trinity Bay or rainforest-covered mountain ranges. Teshi's Restaurant serves classic dishes with an Eastern flair.

Nice staff, good services
we were in Cairns for 5 days for Xmas holiday, the hotel is very nice, get a ocean view room, face to the sea and enjoy the nice breeze. the hotel staff are really friendly, and room services is quick and price is reasonable. have hotel bus to the central city every hour, if you walk, will take 30 mins to the city, but we enjoyed the quiet location.

We enjoyed our three nights at the Mercure Cairns Harbourside. Location overlooking the ocean and beautiful gardens and walks to the city. I would recommend it. Friendly staff.

Staff is friendly and environment is good. However, it is far away from city centre in walking distance though free shuttle is available, but only once per hour

Stay Some Place Else
Worse hotel I have stayed at during my travels. Had to wait an additional hour for my room, they lost my luggage in the hotel while they were making me wait. They have basic television and the room service was not good. I had to call to complain about the fact that there was no hot water. Don't bother staying here- save your money and go some place else.

Good clean hotel, limited room
Good clean hotel, limited room service menu. Could do with an update, but otherwise good, and nice 20 minute walk into town via the foreshore walking path. The free shuttle bus inot town was also great!

Hotel is good but it does take
Hotel is good but it does take half an hour to walk to town. When booking this hotel online there were two prices for the room with a brief abbrieveated discription for the second price which appeared to suggest it included breakfast.....it does not!
