Modern motel with a saltwater swimming pool
A playful feeling permeates the design of the Aspect Central Motel. The saltwater pool mimics the outer reef. The motel building itself looks part childhood building blocks and part Alexander Calder sculpture. The Aspect offers a variety of accommodation styles. Room sizes range from single studios that make a comfortable temporary home for solo travelers to rooms that will accommodate groups up to six. The outdoor grill provides travelers with a relaxing place to take a break from the day's activities.

Hotel review
Our experience at the hotel was unfortunately highly depressive bordering on disastrous ! What we needed and were confirmed by agent was there will be two rooms , one with 2 single beds and another with 2 double beds (2+4). What we were offered was 2 rooms each with one single and one double bed (3+3). We requested that they relocate us to 2 rooms with [2p+4p] arrangement either in the same hotel or in a nearby unit, which the inexperienced and the only available receptionist was unable to do. The rooms were unattractive and dysfunctional, the phones were inoperative and remained so during the 2 night's stay in spite of repeated reminders. The AC in one room was inoperative the whole time. We were told no maintenance persons are available to help. The stoves in kitchenettes were old and rusted. The refrigerators were old and way past their useful life. The beds were on rollers and two of them were unrestrained on the floor and moved around each time one got in or out of them. There were no one on duty after 4 pm [we were told it was Easter week end hence no person or service would be available]. The stairs were exposed and steep and we had a real hard time in carrying suitcases upstairs. It was one of the worst accommodations that we ever had to live in.. We strongly urge you to visit the hotel immediately and downgrade and/or eliminate it from their recommended list. We were misled with its 4 Star rating. It can be a 2 Star hotel at best. Very Small Roms
The bathroom and bedroom was all one room. Very tiny and no place to move around. Location is only ok, nothing special

Out of 73 countries, the smallest hotel room ever!
This room was so bad, at first I thought it was a hidden camera joke. The "studio" rooms are much smaller than the even the smallest cruise ship room. The single bed broke when I sat on it (and I am 80 kgs!). This room would be ideal for a garden gnome wanting to feel cozy. Unless the 'studio" rooms are an anomaly, I can't see how this property can even garner one star! The front office closes at 8 pm, so don' try to check in after hours.

Nice, Clean, Comfortable
The room was clean. We had a dip in their pool which was nice after a hot, humid Cairns afternoon. They also had a mini fridge in the room, so if you had a drink or something, that was useful. Only complaint was the bunk beds were VERY squeaky. If anyone even turned their head, it made a loud noise. Other than that, it was a good place to stay.
