For the late check in security guy helped us. Thanks god he was there and he was the only good thing we`ve seen there. Reception wasn`t helpfull. No 24 hrs service. Very early check out at 8.30. We stayed a few more hours and they charged $50 extra. Rooms are too small and very noisy outside. Water pressure was too low. Breakfast was finished at 9.30 when i rang reception. Didin`t enjoyed our one night stay there. I prefered to stay in my car which would be more comfy.

Average at Best
The hotel is far more out dated than the photos lead you to believe. The lobby has been updated but the rooms could use some attention. No internet in the rooms. For the price I paid I expected more.

We think that the location of
We think that the location of the hotel is perfect for theatre and museum, etc. For the price you could not beat it. All the staff were wonderful, the person at the deck, that man who guided us for parking, the 2 young men in the dining room. The room was fine and very clean. We wanted to stay for 2 nights this weekend, but your place was all booked up. But we shall not forget this hotel.

Good place to stay very friendly
Good place to stay very friendly staff within easy walk to city, room quite spacious and very clean. Free parking was fantastic. I had a 2 day conference in the city and was able to leave my car there even before I had checked in and when I check out I was still able to leave my car there until the conference had finished at 5pm. Iwould definately stay there again

Bargain on the South Bank
This hotel is located at the north end of the South Bank area, just across the river from downtown Brisbane. On the map it looks a little isolated, but that is not really the case. First, they have a free underground garage and that is a HUGE advantage in that area where public parking starts at $15 for the first four hours. Second, there is a boardwalk that starts about 50 yards from the hotel (just across the street and down the block towards the river) that runs all the way down the South Bank area--great for joggers--that is filled with shops and restaurants. (If you go out on the boardwalk at dusk, be sure to look up--you'll see some huge bats coming out for the evening's hunt!) The rooms were nice (flat screen TV, private bath, clean). There was one non-functional power outlet (that's the "4" I gave for upkeep). The only thing I found annoying was that they charge about $30/day for internet connection (that's the "1" I gave for amenities). The best way around that is to go to the bar (before 10 PM!) and buy a beer to get a free half hour of WiFi connection. Other than that I was quite pleased with my stay.

Dining tip:
In Hotel
Food in Australia is more expensive than most Americans are used to paying (e.g., at the airport on the way home I paid about $14 for a 6" Subway turkey sub, a 20 oz Coke and a cookie). I tried out the hotel restaurant for both dinner and the breakfast buffet and was pleasantly surprised--one of the best values in the area--tasty and reasonably priced (relatively speaking).
