The comforts of home get a lift from the building’s views of Story Bridge, the Botanic Gardens, and other city sights. Oaks Felix’s location in the central business district makes it easy for visitors to pop in and out of the city action. Some of Brisbane’s best restaurants, bars, and market are on the nearby Eagle Street Pier.

Rooms

The 40-story curved building is home to one- and two-bedroom apartments. The contemporary furniture and decor emphasize comfort. All of the apartments have full kitchens and private balconies with sweeping views of the Brisbane River or city sights. Other apartment amenities include a washing machine and dryer, air conditioning, cable television and DVD player, and an intercom security system. High-speed Internet access is available (fees apply). The largest apartments have two bedrooms and can accommodate groups up to five adults.

Property features

The building facilities should be especially appealing for families or business travelers in Brisbane for an extended stay. The hotel also provides small fitness room for recreation. Great facility, dearth of dining

Would recommend Fri, Oct 8, 2010
The facility itself, was great: great location, great views, great service. However, the dining options in the vicinity were expensive and weren't that tasty, especially for the money charged. The included kitchenette helped alleviate this but limited utensils and spices reduced us to making simple meals or reheating preprepared food. That being said, with some exploration, fair food could be had, but never had I had to work so hard at finding it! Food issues notwithstanding, Brisbane is a great city and the Oaks on Felix a good place to stay.

Money saver

The public transport options are comprehensive, including buses, water ferries and trains. Save money by buying a Go Card or daily pass. This will allow you to hop on and off of all these modes at will. They go to all the interesting places, such at Australia Zoo, Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary and the XXXX Brewery. Also, a cruise on the Catamaran is the poor man's river cruise tour...

Fantastic Location,Friendly Staff!

Would recommend Fri, Sep 17, 2010
The Oaks on Felix is next to the Botanical Gardens, the Eagle St. bus stop (for the free city bus), and the Riverwalk area with nice waterfront restaurants. The "CityCat" and "City Ferry" leave from the Riverwalk dock and you can ride them all day for $7.90 each. The views of the city from the City Ferry at night are amazing! Our room was on the 25th floor, river view, 2 br apt. Views of the river and one of the beautiful bridges which are lit at night. Since the Brisbane River runs through Brisbane, it is ideal to be near a stop for the CityCat (catamaran) and City Ferry. Location was perfect for this hotel and the staff was always willing to help us with all of our questions! We took my parents with us and we all had a great time in Brisbane.

Attractions

The CityCat catamaran and City Ferry are the best for cruising the river, stopping at other places to eat or shop, or just to enjoy the ride! This hotel is next to the stop for both of these. Also the Botanical Garden is just around the corner.
