Two old ladies

The hotel staff were helpful, and our room was soon made ready, despite the fact that we turned up at 10 o'clock in the morning. We were on the river front, but felt a bit cut off from the CBD, as it was an uphill trek to the centre of Brisbane. Good place for younger people, but not ideal for us

Great location and marvelous views

The room was fairly ordinary, but the view of the River and the location was excellent - easy access to Queen Ann Street, the City Cat, and bridge to South side of the river - which is great for little boutique shops and good eats.

Mercure in Brisbane a Pretty Good Deal

Found the staff to be most accomodating of all requests, large and small. Location was nice: on the edge of downtown, just a few minutes walk to great shopping / dining / transit area; but quiet with wonderful views of the river and culture center. The rooms were good sized with all reasonable amenities, certainly, fresh and airy and (as I already said) nice vews. Coin operated laundy washing and drying machines on the third floor, combined with an ironing board and iron in the room, were a nice touch. The laundry facilities were something you don't normally see in an upscale hotel, but a great money saver when you do find it. Only regret: the pool was kind of small and slips into the shade in the early afternoon. Still, the temperature was nice, sun good if you can get to it at the right time, and certainly not bad for an evening swim.
