Slightly out the way
When we arrived at the hotel, i didnt find the receptionist very helpful. Also when i saw that they had WiFi at the hotel, it didnt cross my mind we had to pay for it. Hotels, or alot of them will provide this service free. We arrived about 8pm and the buffet they provide wasnt that great, and not worth the $29.95 they were asking to eat as much as you wanted. It looked as if had been sitting there along time, hence no one was in there. Nice hotel, location not good

Comfortable
I participated at a conference at the conference center - it was easy to walk to and enjoy the great restaurants, coffee shops and parks on South Bank in the mornings and evenings before and after the conference. The room was clean and newly furbished - the staff was ok but not super friendly. The one draw-back: when arriving just before lunch from 2 days plane travels - we had to wait until 2pm to get to our room - the staff did not try to speed up the cleaning - it would have been nice to get a bit more accommodation. It was nice to be able to sit on the balcony, sip the first coffee in the morning and look at the great Brisbane skyline. Price of the room was very good - for a rather expensive Australia. It would have been a nice touch if the Hotel would have offered free Internet (although paid service work fairly well) - Internet connections are very difficult to come by in Brisbane (hardly free wifi in coffee shops etc).

Rooms are very clean & of generous
Rooms are very clean & of generous size, walking distance to southbank with plenty of choice for dining out. Good view of city lights & night, a bit of traffic noise as is very close to major city hospital area but really nothing to bother about. Brisbane CBD is only 15 to 20 minute walk, & the Gabba is straight down the road. Would recommend.

We have stayed at Hillcrest several times and love the convenience to Southbank and the CBD. Staff are pleasant and approachable, the rooms ar clean, neat and contempory. Although there is no pay TV channels, we will continue to stay there when visiting Brisbane.

We were upgraded to a 1 bedroom
We were upgraded to a 1 bedroom apartment with views out over the river. It was very pleasant stay. Had a drink in the restaurant bar before heading out to meet friends. We had everything we needed for a one-nighter - tea, coffee, milk, clean towels, tissues, soap and a comfortable bed to sleep in. Would stay there again. Note: make sure you come in the right way - Vulture St. We uploaded directions from Internet and ended up coming in the back way (Water St) and wandered around the basement carpark until some kind soul gave us the code for the lift to the lobby.

The Hillcrest is a clean, well
The Hillcrest is a clean, well presented hotel in Brisbane's attractive South bank. The staff are friendly and helpful and the location is perfect. Only one negative point to mention about the Hillcrest is their lack of aftersales care. I had problems with the company taking money off my credit card for things I had not used and when I raised this point over several e-mails I was politley told 'tough luck'. Be sure to check your mini bar is fully stocked when you enter your room as I was charged for items which were not in the fridge when I arrived which either means this is common practice for the group or a lack of training for staff who failed to check and re-fill the mini bar after the last guests. Other than that this is a good hotel is a very good location.

Good location. Triple room was not equipped with a third chair. Only two towells provided but on request, extra one provided. Room provided faced west and was hot on entering it in afternoon, no views . I would have preferred to have a room facing the river.
