Nicest Hotel in the Area

I guess that's saying something - Alice Springs is a tiny town, not known for top rate hotels. Lasseters is definitely the nicest you will find, with casinos and nice restaurants on site. It's an outdoor property, which is unusual for anything over four stars (all doors face outside, no enclosure) but very nice and comfortable. Beautiful pools.

Aussie Trip

Hotel Lasseters Casino & Resort had a very nice pool and good laundry facilities. Casino was not open 24 hrs and had limited hours. Hotel needs revamping and was run down. Paid $60 a night for upgrade to newer unit. Flies were in old unit and could not stay in the old room with dirty rug and bad smell. New refurnished room very nice and worth the price for clean room even though toured all day and didn't use facility. Sad resort was empty and was surprise that the staff stuck to unreasonable rules. example no one in restaurant for two days in a row but they made me sit in bar area even though eating my hot wings one night and another steam mussels had to eat on lap since bar tables were too low and hot sauce spelled everwhere. Silly all the tables in the dinning room empty but staff refuse to let me eat at a table! Too too crazy!

We love, love, love Lasseters

Incredibly friendly people, incredibly nice rooms, great location for seeing the sites of Central Australia. Super food, lots of food choices on site; professionally run, yet down to earth and friendly. Incredible value for the money. We stayed for five nights and used Lasseter's as our base for exploring Uluru, the McDonnell mountains, etc. All terrific.... would highly recommend this place to anyone. Casino is an added benefit.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

Overlander's Steakhouse -- a mid-priced range casual steakhouse with great food at decent prices. Lots of choices from exotic to downright weird, along with plenty of normal fare. Huge potions, great "western" ambience, just easy and good.

great business amenities

The lasseters hotel casino was confortable, the room was adequate in size. The bed was comfortable, and the room was clean. The rooms were motel like as far as entering your room from the outside. Location was on the outskirts of town and our travel book suggested that it was not safe to walk to/from town in the evening. Did not eat in the hotel restaurant, so I can't comment on that. The pool was small and you had to go inside to get a drink.

Shopping tip: Short drive from hotel

There was great shopping for aboriginal art in town, best in the northern territory.
