A perfect home base to explore Sydney’s attractions
The Y Hyde Park Sydney hotel stands close to Hyde Park and Oxford Streets and gives guests both a beautiful setting and one that is convenient. Visitors take advantage of secure luggage storage and guest laundry as well as a 24-hour front desk with excellent service. Undercover parking and a free continental breakfast are also available to guests. The Y Hyde Park Sydney puts the very best of Sydney at your doorstep, including restaurants, bars, cafés, parks, gardens and more. Nice location in the city centre
Nice location in the city centre and not far from tourist attractions. Guest kitchen, internet +call was a good help. Friendly staff.

Very nice hotel in a great location.
Very nice hotel in a great location. The included continental breakfast is great - no-one is watching how much you eat, so if you wanted three bowls of cornflakes, 18 slices of toast and two cups of tea, you probably could. The lunch time menu in the cafe is basic, but adequate and the prices are very reasonable. I was on the sixth floor, and noticed that rooms 601 - 603 are immediately adjacent to the laundry. Although laundry hours are officially 8am - 10pm, the door was still open and machines running at 11pm, so if you're a light sleeper or need to sleep during the day, it's perhaps best to ask for rooms further away. Note that if you are arriving by train, the Museum station is only 10 minutes walk away, however, there is no lift, ramp or disabled access from the platforms to street level, only several flights of stairs, so if you have heavy cases, you're better off getting a taxi to the hotel. In summary, have stayed at the Y before, and would stay again.

We picked this hotel primarily
We picked this hotel primarily for the location, as we were attending the cricket at the SCG. It is a 25 minute walk to the SCG, and a 10 minute walk to the main restaurant areas in the CBD - the location was excellent. The price for this location was great. Breakfast was basic, but certainly good enough. The room was small, but clean. We would be happy to stay here again.

Great location for sightseeing,
Great location for sightseeing, city & even for a 1/2 hr stroll to the cricket ground. Complementary continental brekfast is more than adequate ($5 extra for cooked breakfast). Same hotel accommdates dormitery type as well as private en-suit rooms, so expect to bump into back-packers in common areas.

The Only Criticism i have concerns
The Only Criticism i have concerns the showers, I know that water saving is a priority I have a water saver myself. but the shower in my room was ridiculous i could not rinse my hair , an absolute trickle ,
