Dependable hotel in Sydney’s central business district

The Travelodge Wynyard Sydney is a comfortable hotel at the core of Sydney's central business district, so guests are able to walk to the nearby Opera House, an array of museums and Darling Harbour. The nearby Wynyard Railway Station provides transport to popular tourist attractions such as Bondi Beach. The hotel's Citrus Grove restaurant is a popular place to enjoy dining and the lounge is tastefully decorated with comfy large leather couches. Excellent location. Is within

Excellent location. Is within walking distance of the opera house and the harbour bridge. Just across the road from Wynyard train station which gives you easy access to all the major sights of sydney. For what we paid this great value for money.

Good deal

The hotel was an ordinary, okay hotel with a good rate. The location is good too. It is right next to Wynyard station. So we took the AirportLink, since we arrived during morning rush hour. It is in a walking distance to Circular Quay and Darling Harbour. We were not able to check in to our room when we arrived, but they had a shower room for us to use after a long trip. The hotel service was not the best. The front desk and travel desk seemed very busy and we had to wait for awhile to get any service. We used a computer by the front desk because they told us that we would be able to do what we wanted, but discovered that we actually could not. We still had to pay for the time we spent on the computer. The shuttle service to the airport that is advertised at the front desk never showed up for us. So if you are using this service, make sure you make a reservation with extra time.

We purchased SmartVisit card which allows you access to many attractions in and around Sydney. We bought one with transportation and since the hotel was right by a train station, we had an easy time getting to different attractions.

Centrally located, only 100 metres

Centrally located, only 100 metres from Wynyard (underground) railway station. 15 comfortably minutes walk to Circular Quay and Opera House; and to Darling Harbour precinct. Rooms are small but nicely appointed; staff are helpful and considerate. A couple of nice Japanese restaurants next door and round the corner. Supermarket only 5 minutes walk away. Very satisfied customer.

I gave an average service rating

I gave an average service rating as we were charged $15.95 for a movie when we didn't watch any movies and wouldnt have for that price. I told the girl at the desk this politely and evidently the customer is always wrong. Didn't want to end a great holiday on a bad note so just paid it. The bathroom is all full-length mirrors which are totally unavoidable. This is very very bad for your self-esteem when you are no longer 18 and have a less than perfect body.

A very average hotel. The beds

A very average hotel. The beds are only mattresses on wooden slabs. There was no information booklet about the hotel in the room. I ordered two inter-connecting rooms 2 months ago and when I got there I was told the rooms could not be adjacent nor interconnecting. This was very disappointing. The ironic thing was one of the rooms was an interconnecting room, but the door was locked and I couldn't have the room next to it.

This was our second stay at Travelodge

This was our second stay at Travelodge Wynyard. It is very conveniently located at Wynard Station, and the central shopping area of Sydney, as well as close to all tourist attractions around Circular Quay. There are plenty of places to eat out around the hotel. We would most definitely stay at Travelodge Wynyard again.
