Travelodge Sydney

At check-in, my husband & I were given a Standard Room with 2 twin beds. We went back down to the lobby to complain as we had pre-paid for an Executive Room with a queen-size bed before leaving the U.S. A registration staff said they were out of rooms with queen-size beds, so my husband & I said we will go to another hotel. The staff then searched their computer & found a room for us. She then said that we should have booked the room w/queen bed through their hotel's website. ??? Water kept leaking out of the shower & into the bathroom floor because there was no footbase to hold the receding water. Towels were not changed daily by the cleaning staff.

I thought that by staying with an international chain we'd be avoiding disappointment, but not so much. Our "king" sized bed was just two twin beds pushed together, and the shower didn't have a real door, just a curtain, but no squeegee or anything to clear up the sodden floor. Location was close in to town, but felt a bit sketchy and deserted at night. I'd definitely look elsewhere for a stay in Sydney.

The hotel was good for the price. Be careful of Cathy, not near as good as the other personnel in the hotel. The rest of the staff was agreeable and very helpful. The room was just fine for us. The facilites with the hotel were fine. Internet access was quite expensive, but there were internet cafe's very close and relatively inexpensive. Would stay there again.

Hotel is okay, nothing too lavish or great. I got it pretty expensive last minute but Sydney is overall expensive, so it was ok given the central location. However, if you are going for 3-4 days stay and want to walk and see Sydney, try staying closer to Circular Quay or Darling Harbor. This is still a good location but walking back can feel non-trivial when you are walking whole day.

Hotel okay. You get what you pay. Clean, good location. Comfort as a hostel. Bathroom small but clean and sufficient.

The hotel is a very good buy for the money. The hotel was fully booked, so we were not able to check in early, having taken the red-eye from Perth to Sydney.

This is an affordable, centrally located hotel within easy reach of all the major sites. It is convenient to the Museums rail station, adjacent to Hyde Park, which makes getting to it from the airport a breeze. The rooms, while not enormous, were clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. My only complaint was that the room was a little warmer than I like, even when the air conditioning was set as low as it could go.

The hotel is in a good location. 5 mins away from the shopping areas and 20 mins walk from the harbor. There is a free CBD bus near the hotel (on Elizabeth st) that will take you around the city.

Good staff (Very friendly, helpful). Decent room. Terrific location for Sydney. It's a 3-star hotel, but I gave it 4 stars because of the staff, microwave oven, and location. Does not have a gym, but there are pay facilities (i.e. Fitness First) very near. Walked everywhere from there: Sydney Tower, Circular Quay with ferry to Taronga Zoo, Museum, Darling Harbour with IMAX, Wildlife Park and Aquarium, Hyde Park, shopping and dining (including being out past 1:30 AM). Be sure to check out the museum off College Street.

Best value in downtown Sydney! Altough breakfast is not included and very expensive. Location is very close to subway station and Hyde Park.
