After a makeover, the Sebel Surry Hills Hotel looks as if it just leapt from the pages of a design magazine. Decidedly hip, rooms, public spaces and the hotel's popular restaurants are crowded with the beautiful and design-savvy. The posh address in Surry Hills affords easy access to shopping, entertainment and public transport. Great location and excellent staff
The location was great, close to the train station and to public buses. The concierge, [...], was amazing and very helpful as were the rest of the staff members. The rooms were nice sized and neatly kept. The pool was satisfactory but the hot tub and sauna were not hot. The hot tub felt like tepid bath water.

Great hotel... helpful concierge!
We only spent 1 night here but wished we'd stayed longer. Newly renovated, very clean, very safe hotel. The concierge was very helpful when we checked in and arranged out airport transportation quickly and efficiently for the next morning. Close to George St., Darling Harbor and the train station. It's also close to the free downtown shuttle, too, but check the schedule because they stop early. Very "American" hotel with our expected amenities. Would be a great place to acclimate to the big time change.

The staff made a special effort
The staff made a special effort to make us feel welcome. The only thing that could possibly be improved were the espresso coffees that we ordered. (We had espresso coffees in Quay West in Brisbane and they were better.) I think that the coffee and the way it was made in Sydney both need improvement. Otherwise everything was great. We loved the gluten free bread.

The hotel was very nice, although i was expecting a little more for the few fish floating under glass in the floor. The bed and pillows weren't very comfortable at all which was the only downfall.

Sebel Surrey Hills Hotel
We stayed at the Sebel Surrey Hills for one night before flying back to the U.S. It is a perfect location as it is an easy walk (even with suitcases) from the Central Train station. We took the train from the airport one afternoon and back to the airport the next afternoon. The hotel is within walking distance of Darling Harbor, China Town, and Circular Quay. It is around the corner from the 555 bus line which is a free bus that circulates through the central business district including Circular Quay. The service was pleasant, the rooms were spotless and roomy. We did not use the pool or fitness center. I highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel surpassed my expectations.
This hotel surpassed my expectations. I had a wonderful stay and found the staff friendly, helpful and efficient. My room was very clean, quiet and comfortable, with touches of luxury. I am looking forward to staying there again.
