Disgraceful for a 5 star hotel
First impressions of the lobby area/front of hotel are shocking. Unbelievable that such a premises claim to be a 5 star hotel. Basically, lobby area resembles a 3 star hotel in the USA. Hotel hallways are very dark, room is okay, and pool is dirty. Booked in for 3 night and unfortunately cannot cancel without paying a 250 dollar cancellation charge. Stayed 4 nights last week at the Sheraton Park hotel across the street on the other side of Hyde Park here in Sydney and would highly recommend it. Marriot is definitely NOT recommended if you want a 5 star hotel.

Unexpected trip to attend a wedding
We were in Sydney to attend a wedding and had vacationed there 2 prior times. We did not need to do the tourist things (had done them all before), so we were seeking a location close to restaurants and public transportation. This Marriott location served that purpose well. Because of the strong Aussie dollar hotel rates were much more expensive than our previous trips. We had no issues at the hotel. The room was comfortable, a good size and the staff was friendly and helpful.

convenient and good stay !!
The twin bed room at this hotel is very good for the accommodation of the family with children like us. Besides, the location of this hotel is the best for the sightseeing by walk at the sydney central city becasues of its vicinity of circular quay and Darling harbor. Anyway, Marriott hotel is better place for the short stay in Sydney than expected and I'd like to recommend many travelers in Sydney this hotel..

Disappointing for a Marriott
Disappointed with this Marriott. It needs a make over is one issue, furniture worn, bathroom dated etc. however staff were a mixed bag of wanting to help to not interested. Room was poorly made up but did improve on last day. Could not access room on check in for 4 hours. They must have been very busy even though I am a Marriott card holder. breakfast dear. Went to the cafe accross the road for fresh food.

Nice trip in Sydney
We had a great time in Sydney. The Marriott by the Hyde Park was a great location. It was very close to public transportation system and the surrounding environment was very good. The hotel service was great and efficient. They also gave us a compliment of high speed internet and wavied the daily charge. The room was clean and quiet with great view. I will stay there next time.

Average Hotel considering it's
Average Hotel considering it's MARRIOT. I expected more for $220. per night. Staff efficient and pleasant. We were able to access our room on arrival at 9am which was great as we were from interstate. Good location to everything as we like to walk.

We booked our accommodation through
We booked our accommodation through Hotel Club and asked for an accessible room for our adult son who is in a wheel chair. We were advised after the booking was made that this was available to us. Upon arrival at the hotel they advised us that all accessible rooms were taken and none were available. We stayed in a nice room with a pull out sofa bed, however my son wanted to have a shower in the morning. The hotel did inform us that they could provide a plastic chair for him, however there was no way that he could step over the bathroom ledge to even attempt in having a shower, let alone sit on the chair. It is obvious that the hotel did double up in bookings for a wheel chair accessible room and we were very upset about the situation.
