the wait & bar staff need a lot of training they were hopeless the food was very nice we enjoyed our stay in spite of the inept staffing they were welcoming & friendly

Very well located if you have
Very well located if you have business in the area. Free loop bus takes you to train station, where you can catch intercity train direct to Central Station in CBD. Service a bit laissez-faire, but may just be an off night. Otherwise straight forward stay. Nothing spectacular, but a very reasonable room rate.

This hotel, although very well
This hotel, although very well located, is seriously in need of a makeover. The room was clean. Bathroom facilities dated, carpet in corridor stained and old. Paid too much for this standard of hotel.

We found the staff to be friendly
We found the staff to be friendly but not that efficient. We had trouble with the room keys and also getting out of the carpark was a problem because the swipe keys did not work. Also the additional charge for parking of $12 per car per night was a shock. Usually parking is provided when you are paying $150 per night for a standard room. We had a king size bed but apart from that the room was very basic.

Sebels had been good. This was
Sebels had been good. This was far from it. Check-in took ages but told had been upgraded. On entering found cave suitable for a hobbit with magnificent riverview by putting head between roof & back of lounge. Back to reception where finally got room we'd booked & paid. On trying to enter room, keys didn't work, so again to reception. Turned on airconditioner - sounded like 747, so opened the window, which sucked up traffic noise - so no window, no aircon. Next day, no paper. Asked at Reception - sorry none. Went for a walk, returned to room - and again keys didn't work. Being on the 2nd floor had the advantage that reception was close ! Fixed. Asked for fresh towels. When we returned, room had been tidied, but no new towels, soaps etc. TV remote did not resemble the 'helpsheet' so unable to get hotel facilities info - or inhouse movies. Sent complaint email. Responded to in 48 hours & suitable compromise offered and accepted. BAD start. GOOD resolution.

The room was very clean and comfortable
The room was very clean and comfortable , however there was a rack on the wall opposite the toilet with towels on it. It was a bit close as I bumped my head on it as I stood up from the toilet. For me as I am not a tall person it was not serious, but I imagine for someone who is taller it could cause a serious bump.
