Worth the money
I was looking for a low cost hotel in Sydney, and came to the conclusion that such doesn't really exist. Unless you want to do one of the backpacker hotels of course. Correct me if I'm wrong though =) The Metro Hotel Sydney Central is nicely located, only about a 10 mins walk from central station where the airport shuttle stops. The hotel is located in Chinatown (or at least it seems so), and darling harbour, and the shopping areas are close by. The town hall train stop is about 10 mins away from where you can reach all Sydney by train. I haven't tried the bus system, maybe there is something even closer. The room had standard equipment. Everything was clean and I had no interference with the service staff. When I arrived they tried to charge me extra for the wireless, but since I booked this hotel specifically with internet access, they did not charge me, and gave me internet. Very nice of them.

Shopping tip:
Short walk from hotel
The Victoria Galleries are close by (north of St. George and Park Street), and there are lots of shops there. If you're in the gallery make sure to see the old clock in the top. It doesn't work, but it beautifully manufactured. Oh, and check out Manly or Bondi Beach.

They put a room service menue
They put a room service menue in room but the service does not exsist.cause we were tried from a big day and just wanted to eat in and you are suppose to dail 4 but that does not exsist. also the resturant they say is on a certain level does not exsist either. i say here a lot and so does family but not sure now.

Some staffs are not that friendly.
Some staffs are not that friendly. Deluxe room is quite small, especially the bed. Shower is not strong enough. However, it situates just in the middle of Thai town, which is very convenient for shopping and dining.

Hotel is conveniently located
Hotel is conveniently located next to Chinatown (great for cheap-but-good-quality food!), 5mins from Paddy's Market, a 5-10min walk from Darling Harbour and perhaps 10-15mins to the Rocks and Circular Quay. Rooms are decently sized, but lighting is poor. Though the room was advertised as 'recently refurbished', the shower did not function well and the sink and toilet were grimy. Generally good hotel for short, money-watching trips.

The hotel is very handy to Sydney's
The hotel is very handy to Sydney's main railway station (Central) as well near by Chintatown and Darling Harbour. Walking distance. I had thought it might be noisy from traffic, but it was not.

Checkin was very bad but in fairness
Checkin was very bad but in fairness I did arrive at the same time as a large group had arrived. It was frustrating as I was not part of the conference group and had to wai in line. The oom is very well appointed and very clean. Problem in the bathroom is the awful placement of the toilet which means yu either remove your ight leg or sit side-saddle to sit on the toilet pedestal.
