Metro Hotel On Pitt

When I emailed the hotel for info it was outstanding in getting info back. When we got there it was a very different matter. I was not able to get a good answer on getting a shuttle to the airport. When we got to the room we were so exhausted from the airport problems that all we wanted to rest. The room was very small. The bedding was not changed unless they were asked to do so. It was difficult to communicate at times with the staff. When I had a copy made of some travel info I had to ask to get part 2 of it. They did accept the lost luggage the following day and put it in the room, but I understand that is common practice.

Was comfortable but simple, the room smelled like cigarettes though which wasnt pleasant. Great location for getting around Sydney.

The Metro has a great location just one block from the Town Hall, the Queen Victoria Building and the shopping complexes linked to it, and only minutes from the circular key and the Opera House. The rooms are small and awkward in design but are quiet and comfortable and the price is a bargain (the Hilton just across the street is three times higher per night).

I did not feel the nice smile in the receiption as other hotels we lived in australia. when we asked the location of YHA,they could not tell us the exact location,where we finally figure it out not too hardly from the map. we told the reception that the security box in the room did not work once we checked in,and told them the next morning again,while until we checked out the security box was out of use for us. All in all,the only value i feel for this hotel is the good location in the central sydney.

I was there for 6 nights, traveling solo. I didn't spend much time in my room, I basically just slept and got ready there! The room is a little small (but still do-able) for two people, but perfect for one. Everyone who worked there was super friendly and very helpful. The air conditioning was great, the water pressure was good, and my unit came with a mini-refrigerator! The location was great, it's only a couple blocks away from major shopping areas and restaurants. The only thing that wasn't so great was that I could hear my neighbors talking next door (we shared a connecting door that was locked), but after putting on the A/C it diffused the sound, so it wasn't that bad. I'm a heavy sleeper, so it worked out okay. I'm not sure if the connecting door was specific to my unit though, it may not be an issue for other rooms in the hotel. They also let me check in really early (8am) and had my room ready to go. And I had a late night flight, so they held my luggage in their storage for the day after I checked out. I would definitely stay there again!

Stayed here only the one night after returning from 2 weeek cruise. We were very ealy for check-in but were able to get us right into our room and let us stay until noon before checking out the next day. Also very close to Darling Harbor, China Town, etc. Room was on the small side but the air worked great.

Extreamly small room,very quite,clean,and servicable for an overnight stay.

Had two rooms at this hotel but found the room on the third floor had little noise protection from the room next door thus every door opening and closing was invasive to our room. Staff were friendly and helpful, room was clean, location great and costing very competitive.

When arriving, lifts did not work. Also, the staff promised to call back with regards to early check-in - no one called. The services are limited and the rooms old. However, the hotel is located in the CBD and the price is very good. Everything was clean, and other than not coming back with the call, the service was good and friendly.

Excellent location. Room well presented. Bathroom clean but jaded. No minibar!
