The award-winning Mercure Sydney was recently repackaged to cater to families and business travelers. The hotel has a fresh, modern look with plenty of perks for a mid-range hotel--kids under 15 stay and eat breakfast free! Add eight conference rooms, a foot-friendly downtown address and a pool and this renovated hotel starts to shine. Beware - hotel does not supply hair shampoo or conditioner - bring your own... Also liquid handsoap and body wash gel is supplied in extra small quantities - indeed only enough shower gel for one person to shower. Otherwise ok...

Enjoyed our stay at the Mercure,
Enjoyed our stay at the Mercure, Central Sydney. The two nights prior at the Mercure Melbourne were not as comfortable as a very pleasant stay in Sydney. The decor was uptodate and well presented. The staff provided service with a very pleasurable approach. No difficulties were experienced and every thing was prompt. Breakfast was very well presented and scrumptious.

Location excellent: very close
Location excellent: very close to central railway station, within walking distance of Darling Harbour and Opera House etc if you are reasonably fit. Hotel was very clean. Breakfast good quality, with the usual variety of food offered. All hotel staff courteous. Only problem was we had to contact housekeeping on both days of our stay b/c soap, shower caps etc not renewed.
