The award-winning Mercure Sydney was recently repackaged to cater to families and business travelers. The hotel has a fresh, modern look with plenty of perks for a mid-range hotel--kids under 15 stay and eat breakfast free! Add eight conference rooms, a foot-friendly downtown address and a pool and this renovated hotel starts to shine. There were a few problems, eg,
There were a few problems, eg, our tv didn't work and one of our card keys didn't work. However, the staff were very friendly and were quick to fix any or our concerns or problems. Overall, a very enjoyable stay.

We only stayed here one night
We only stayed here one night but would definately stay here again, was greeted in the most friendly manner and very helpful staff. My partner had a unfortunate accident while we were there and the staff were so helpful and accomodating, nothing was too much trouble.

A VERY clean hotel, comfy bed
A VERY clean hotel, comfy bed &a banquet of pillows to choose from- Rubber to feathers! Room Safe was out of order due to a previous user, which was inconvenient. Plumbing dripped & could do with repair, also drainage was poor so the sink half filled the basin when draining the bath. The iron blew the safety switch for a particular set of points which meant the hairdryer also did not work. Room meals were quick & well presented, but unfortunately on the cold side. The indoor heated pool was icey but like the gym spotlessly clean. Very hand location had all types of transport, & walking distance to many points of interest. Unfortuantely it was particularly tricky getting into the place by vehicle for a first time arrival without knowledge of the area as it was an extremely busy hub and sat in a myriad of one-way streets. All general areas were very clean & well maintained. Restuarant was well priced & the food delicious. Overall was pleased & would definitely stay there again.
