Nice place!

There are a couple of really good coffee places right down the street (Gloria Jean's is one and the other is right next to it) for breakfast... much cheaper than the hotel restaurant.

Anniversary Getaway
We really enjoyed our stay at the Mercure. We arrived super early and were given the option to upgrade for $20 a night for a room with a view. We thought it was worth it as the view was beautiful and even better we were able to check in at 7:30 am rather than having to wait until 2pm. That was great after our long flight! The room was comfortable and the hotel was in walking distance to the central train station which goes anywhere you need to go. There was also a little breakfast place out back that was great! The staff were friendly and helpful as well. The restaurant was not very impressive and while the bar had a pizza night with specials when we went for a later night snack at 9pm they were sold out. Overall we had a great visit and would highly recommend this hotel to other travelers.

have breakfast at the "Gungho" cafe just around the corner from the hotel as it was cheap for a big breakfast and staff were perfect - yum!

Location is the main plus about
Location is the main plus about this hotel. Cant get much closer to Central station. Clean enough, bed comfortable enough, however the room is pretty basic for the price. Staff were pleasant enough, on a busy night. A non-smoking room was requested and confirmed at check in, however the room smelled of smoke, even in the bed in the early hours of the morning. Had room service dinner, it was delivered without cutlery, had to wait another 15 mins for that to come. will try another hotel next time.
