AWFUL front desk staff -- inattentive and irresponsible. A full 2 months in advance I pre-paid over $1100 for 5 non-refundable nights. Upon check-out, front desk staff ended up charging me again -- another $1200 with exchange rate -- even though I
showed them my netbook with my paid-in-full receipt. Incompetent staff to the MAX. Plus, front desk also had worthless evening concierge named James, who cluelessly came up empty-handed with a simple request related to the sport of golf. BTW, my request was handled without sweat by a concierge at a NEIGHBORING hotel -- even though I wasn't even staying there. Moreover, AVOID this Holiday Inn -- it is staffed by bumbling & thoughtless kids, instead of competent hotel professionals.

Stay up George Street at the Four Seasons instead -- it'll save you all the time and trouble of trying to reverse the double room charges and shameless indifference of the bungling front desk staff at the Holiday Inn.
This Holiday Inn was better than others I have stayed in. The rooftop pool with the view of the Opera House, downtown skyline, and Harbor Bridge is unbeatable. The front desk was helpful and friendly. I considered eating at the bar one night when
I was a little too tired to go out. Reconsidered when she told me the burgers were pre-cooked patties. Also, no exercise room but then again this does not seem to be a popular concept in Australian hotels as it is in America. Room was clean and comfortable and the Rocks is a neat location- close to lots of attractions.
