Christmas and New Year

Would recommend Wed, Feb 4, 2015
Just visiting Sydney was amazing, but the hotel and its location, in the old part of Sydney could not have been better. The staff were very friendly and the room so comfortable for our 11 night stay. We would definitley recommend.

Attractions

You must must must do the bridge climb. Its a bit pricey at $260 each depending on time of day and there are different climbs to chose from. But you are in safe hands and you climb in groups of 10 or 12 people right to the top, absolutley awesome. Do it! Also do the Opera House too - amazing building Oh and get a ferry from Central Quay - just five minutes walk from the hotel to Manly then a bus to Spitz and do the coastal walk back. It takes 4 hours.

Great Location--Decent Price

Would recommend Mon, Mar 17, 2014
The hotel was decent. The location could not have been better for our trip. This Holiday Inn is located in the less frenetic part of Sydney the historical Rocks. It is also a walk across the street to The Quay and a quick few blocks to the Sydney Harbor Bridge. A real plus is the rooftop pool and patio giving views of the city. Bed was comfortable. Rooms seemed to have had fresh paint. HVAC for room could be updated.

Dining

Try Vintage Cafe back through Nurses Lane. Great Tapas.

Girls' trip

Would recommend Sat, Mar 15, 2014
The location was great, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We arrived around 10 am but they stored our bags and delivered them to our room before we came back for the evening. The only complaint is that the room temperature could not be controlled by individual rooms. The vent blew cold air non-stop, and I was very cold in the room. (But for some people, it may have been the right temperature)

Roof Pool with Best View Around

Would recommend Mon, Mar 19, 2012
This Holiday Inn was better than others I have stayed in. The rooftop pool with the view of the Opera House, downtown skyline, and Harbor Bridge is unbeatable. The front desk was helpful and friendly. I considered eating at the bar one night when I was a little too tired to go out. Reconsidered when she told me the burgers were pre-cooked patties. Also, no exercise room but then again this does not seem to be a popular concept in Australian hotels as it is in America. Room was clean and comfortable and the Rocks is a neat location- close to lots of attractions.

Great Location

Would recommend Tue, Jan 31, 2012
The location was ideal, right next to Harbour bridge and Circular Quay for picking up ferry's, hop on & off city tour stop just across the road and train station 5 minutes walk. Hotel itself is a little tired and room fairly small but had everything we needed and did not spend much time in it as so much to see in Sydney so did not think it mattered that much. Breakfast very good a great buffet selection.

Were able to walk downtown, close to Opera house and bridge, several good eating establishments. Room in bad location even though we made reservations back in March. Had to walk to far to get to elevator. Bathroom wall dirty. Great hotel for closeness but would not recommend unless clients get a lot better room location than the alley. Garbage trucks two mornings, pressure washing of alley one morning, 4:30am, noise from setting up arts and crafts show on Saturday. No information on hotel in room, did not know about dining, etc.

Staff assisted with all airport transfers, registrations for points of interest and dinner cruises. Could not have been more helpful! Food was excellent, room service great. Would highly recommend to friends and relatives. The location was prefect for walking to all points of interest, train station, and ferry.

Money saver

Ferry travel was very reasonable and a pleasant sightseeing adventure.
