Perfect location for a couple's getaway
We wanted to be in the heart of The Rocks so that we could walk to all the major attractions - Opera House, Harbour Bridge, etc. But we didn't want to pay the extreme prices of the big hotels. So we booked Harbour Rocks and would absolutely recommend it and come back. Small room, but perfect for the two of us as we were only there to sleep and shower! Location couldn't be easier.

Absolutely fantastic location
Absolutely fantastic location - so close to everything. Older style hotel but has everything. The Heritage room we stayed in was small and situated at the rear of the hotel which backs onto restaurants and beer garden. We found it noisy around 5.00am - 6am when places were setting up for the days trade or emptying recycling bins full of glass bottles. Ask for a room at the front or higher up. Apart from that it is a great place to stay and staff very friendly.

Nice friendly hotel in a great
Nice friendly hotel in a great location. Lovely and quiet also - best night's sleep we've had in a hotel in The Rocks. Only criticism is we had to carry our bags up two flights of stairs - only to discover a baggage lift no-one told us about!! We used it in the morning on the way out.

Harbor Rocks Hotel Sydney
Made 4 calls to the desk to report that the air conditioning wasn't working in our room and was assured the maintenance engineer would call back. Never did get a call back as we checked in on a Fri. and learned he was gone til Monday and the air wouldn't be fixed. [...]

The service at this hotel was
The service at this hotel was excellent; the staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. The housekeeping was very good, every day on our return to the hotel the room had been serviced with great detail. The best thing of all, it was so quiet and peaceful; and the bed so comfortable, enjoyed a good night's sleep every night we stayed there! I would definitely recommend this hotel and we would love to go back. Only one slight problem was the meal in the evening was not quite up to scratch, I understand they had a slight problem over the w'end with staff, but that can happen from time to time. Overall we were very happy indeed! Thank you for a most enjoyable stay.

Great location, but my room stank
Great location, but my room stank like moth balls. Couldn't get rid of the smell. (apparently they had just sprayed the rooms) I think this hotel is a little over priced, but still ok.

We booked the ghost tour. Loved
We booked the ghost tour. Loved the Hotel, the breakfast was amazing. My only complaint would be the noise from the surrounding pubs but other than that a totally enjoyable stay.

Good location
We used this hotel as a jumping point for walking to Darling Harbour, Hyde Park, the Queen Victoria Building, and Chinatown. All were within easy walking distance. Internet use was more expensive here than other places we used around Sydney. We really didn't use any other services at this hotel. The staff though helpful when asked, didn't go out of their way either. No one ever mentioned having breakfast here.

Avoid this place
The staff were incredibly unfriendly and gave us a room below the class we had booked online. Only upon presenting our confirmation did they move us to a room with a queen bed. This upgraded room was located next to a restaurant with loud music playing. [...]
