great place to stay - very central.

Great location, within walking distance to all the major attractions in Sydney~

This is the first time we have stayed at this Hotel, we stayed 2 nights, went to a concert and then chrismas shopping. I found this hotel very central to everything, just across the junction for Hyde Park, close to train staion. The accomodation was really nice, my daughter and I stayed in the double studio. I requested 2 single beds instead of a double as we wanted to sleep in our bed, we were peasently surprised to find 2 queen beds. The rest of the room was spacious, nice ensuit, functional kitchen and dinning area. Cleaners tided the room the 1st morning which was a nice surpise. I found the reception staff very helpful. We would definetly stay here again and would recommend this hotel to anyone who needs to stay in Sydney.

Kitty corner from Hyde Park. Walking distance to CBD. Rooms were modern, clean and roomy and came with a kitchenette. Room could use more light. Street noisy and elevator quirky and slow.

Room was very spacious and clean. Great little self contained kitchen. Stayed with 3 people in one room and sofa bed was terrible but we arranged for the hotel to provide a rollaway bed and that was much better. They also attended to that problem very quickly. Quite happy with stay and if I had to say one bad thing it would probably be the house keeping. Towels were not replaced and dirty ones were left on the floor not what you would expect from a 4 star hotel. Only stayed for 2 nights so we weren't really fussed. Location was close to everything but was not a fan of Oxford street. Darling Habour area is a much nicer area to stay in.

I got a room with kitchenette for about NZ$500 for three nights, so less than NZ$ 170 per night, and right next to Hyde Park - so hard to grumble. The room was very clean (as it was last time I stayed) and the bed was comfortable. The only drawback is that the rooms do tend to be very dark and the lighting is not good, and add that to the sombre greens they use as a reto look and, well, you have a recipe for a slightly depressing stay! I would stay again but if I had to choose to pay $50 more for a bright, fresh hotel instead I would do that.

A great hotel just off the lively Oxford Street but not noisy in any way. The room was like an apartment with a worktop, toaster, kettle, fridge/minibar. Very good sized room. King size bed -bathroom not overly big but adequate and beautifully clean. Used the separate laundry facilities on site which were more than adequate. Staff were helpful and friendly. Purchased a token for internet usage but this was down for some of the time. Otherwise an excellent hotel

Our stay at the Hotel Stellar was the last of three hotels that we stayed in during our four city tour of Australia. This by far was the best hotel because of location, size and price. The room we stayed in was newly renovated and featured a king size bed, full size bath and a kitchenette. The room was plenty large featuring vaulted sealing's. If we ever visit Sydney again, we would stay at this hotel and request room number 503! The view from the room was also good, it was centrally located in the city so what we saw were other buildings but we also had a good view of Hyde Park. The Hotel was also around the corner from a bus stop which was handy when we visited Bondi Beach, and around a number of restaurants. If you like Thai you have to try a place called the "Three Chilies". When in Sydney and on a budget but looking for a "perfect" place to stay, try the Hotel Stellar.

Our stay at Hotel Stellar was fantastic. My teenage son joined my husband and I on our trip to Sydney and the accommodation was clean, comfortable and suited three adults. The location is outstanding in that you can walk to Oxford Street, Hyde Park as well the CBD if you so wished. It was only a five minute walk to Elizabeth Street where you can board a free city bus (the 555) which gets you to Circular Quay. I would certainly recommend the Stellar - staff were friendly and helpful. We stored our luggage safely with them when we checked out in the morning, and were ready to leave for the airport later in the afternoon. My only criticism would be that they badly need a small ramp (say 1 metre wide) so that you can easily lug your luggage from the street level to their reception - the three steps are a bit hard going on your wheelie suitcases. Otherwise, great Hotel and we certainly plan to go back!
