The former Aspen Hotel has been rebranded as the Aspire Hotel Sydney. Simple interiors deemed as retro by insiders offer a comfortable stay with friendly service. A little further from Haymarket
A little further from Haymarket and Darling Harbour than we usually like, but if you ask for a map and use the shortcut it's not too far to walk to Chinatown, Paddy's etc. Thought it was good value for money and $15 pp for full buffet breakfast, well cooked, was good.

The hotel filled our needs of
The hotel filled our needs of a cheap bed due to last minute reservation discount. The decor and facilities are old however the service was friendly and helpful. Walking distance to Darling Harbour a plus.

Had a lovely stay, reception staff
Had a lovely stay, reception staff were lovely and professional. only 5 min walk from central train station, monorail etc. great place to stay would stay there again. thank you Kim

The staff were very helpful and
The staff were very helpful and cheary, made for a very plesant stay in Sydney. The hotel is close to Central Railway station, a short walk to various places. We had a wonderful weekend and would stay there agin if and when we return to Sydney.

Although the bedding and bathroom
Although the bedding and bathroom were clean the net curtains were dirty and ripped which didn't look that good. The room was fairly big but the furniture and tv pretty old.

I found the lift, which our room
I found the lift, which our room was near, quite disturbing when trying to go to sleep, and it did wake me up early each morning as patrons left.

Nice visit - tough to drive into
We stayed for a walk-around and relieve jet-lag and the area was easy to walk.

Location was great; front desk
Location was great; front desk was staffed with helpful people; but each guest is only allowed one pillow which was a bit weird we asked for more but they didnt have anymore; deluxe room is not really deluxe; bathrooms need updating but would stay there again.
