Breakfast menu was unchanging
Breakfast menu was unchanging and relatively limited. One morning the bacon was generally overcooked. Eggs other than scrambled had to be ordered (and some fried eggs - they looked burned around the edges). We were deterred from eating dinner there asthe menu was somewhat expensive.

Nice place to stay
The room was very nice. It was very large and comfortable. The hotel was right on the water. We ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant and the view of the water and pier was lovely. One thing that was initially frustrating was the self-parking. We were told where it was located but it wasn't clearly marked. Of course, once you found it, there was no problem. We were not the only people that had trouble finding it. It all worked out fine, however. It was a great hotel for our overnight stay while traveling to Sydney.

We stayed 3 nights, the cot wasn't
We stayed 3 nights, the cot wasn't in room upon arrival, there was a function booked in the adjoining room which was loud with a dj & as they had left their door wedged open for the large influx of guests coming & going the smoke came and filtered all throughout our room and under the door where my babies was sleeping. Even though the nice staff told the party goers that they should have been out by 10pm they stayed till after midnight. ended up being a bad experience for me. other than that the housekeeping staff, one in particaulr was lovely and the room was okay except next time explain that the standard room is three times the size which would've been useful as we have a baby so no where for her to crawl & it was the same price. We ordered a seafood dish for $30 from room service adn found it to be very disappointing for what we paid, was the size of an entree with about 8 noodles in it & not much more than a tablesoon of seafood, more watercress and soysauce than anything.

One critism - Requested parking
One critism - Requested parking space beforehand but parking space was no longer available on the DOA and have been asked to try again the next day. Thus, was a little disappointed that the car had to be parked on the street even though there was a police station across the road.

Excellent location, very central
Excellent location, very central to town center and beaches. Lovely view of Hastings River from our room. I have stayed at Port many times, each time in a different hotel, and would have no trouble recommending this hotel as one of the best.
