Vacation
The best most comfortable room in Aruba. They give you everything you need if you want to cook in your room and, of course, you have a choice of restaurants there and in all Aruba to go to.

Horrible Service, Decent Rooms
The service here is terrible. Besides a few exceptions, the staff has no hustle, and is generally not competent. Plan on spending a lot of time in the lobby if you have anything you'd like to ask for or need help with. The concierge (especially Vanessa) have terrible attitudes and are not helpful. I was literally handed a phone book. With regards to service, this hotel is a model of neglecting the customer. If you drink alcoholic drinks, I recommend staying at one of the Divi inclusive resorts, not only because the drinks cost a lot, but because you have to literally buy tickets at the front desk of the beach side hotels each time you want a drink. I assume you are not going to Aruba to stand in lobbies waiting to buy drink tickets. Service aside, the rooms were clean and the location is across the street form a gorgeous beach.

If you buy a couple drink tickets at the Divi beach side hotels and tip after the first drink, often the bartenders will keep giving you free drinks.

Just what we needed, nothing more or less.
We've stayed in Aruba before and prefer the high res section of the island. We ended up getting such a great deal at Divi that we couldn't pass it up. We have a 1 year old child, so the 1 bedroom suite worked well with giving her room to walk and play. However, taking her and a stroller up and down a walkup with a spiral staircase, not the greatest. But there were a lot more buildings that had regular stairs. The pools were nice. There is 1 family restaurant, and what seemed like one fancy restaurant. They were building new buildings while we were there. We stayed in an older building, but it was still nice. The beds were average for Aruba. For the average american, they may be a little firm. If you are all inclusive you could dine at their properties across the street, on the water. There is a huge beach across the street from this resort, but very few chickie huts for much needed shade from the sun. If you want to eat or shop near by there is a shuttle (long golf cart) that will get you around. But downtown (good shops) and the high rise area (dining, shops, and a new mall) will require a cab or your rental car. Overall, Divi was a place to stay for us. If you are a golfer, it may be THE place to stay.

Sightseeing tip:
Not Applicable
The High Rise area has the best beaches. They are all public beaches, but if you want a shaded "chickie" hut, you have to stay at the property where the huts are. October and November (before thanksgiving) are the best times to go as the beaches are not even close to being as crowded as they are in the winter months when you have to on the beach by 6am to get a shaded chickie.

Great Resort!!!
Great place to stay. Resort is being remodeled, so it will be in better shape later this year. The 9-hole course is in surprisingly good condition. Location is great since you have casinos, restaurants, beach and grocery stores within walking distance. Will stay there again.
