Largest luxury resort on Palm Beach has hotel-within-a-hotel and casino

The Aruba Marriott Resort and Stellaris Casino recently enjoyed a makeover worth $50 million. Kick back and watch cable on the 37-inch LCD flat-panel TV found in every room.
Dining

There is no need to leave the resort: fine dining at the Aruba Marriott Resort and Stellaris Casino comes in many forms, and has garnered accolades from the critics. Eat buttery filets at Ruth's Chris Steak House, or nibble on sashimi at Ketsu Sushi Bar. La Vista has a themed, fresh buffet for casual meals, and Simply Fish offers seafood for dinner.

Recreation
A bi-level fitness club has complimentary classes, and plenty of cardiovascular equipment, free weights and yoga mats. Stellaris Casino is the largest on the island. Kids activities from arts and crafts to scavenger hunts can be arranged. Palm Beach is steps away, and towel service at the resort pool and sauna is free.

Great for family vacation or couples getaway!

We spend 5 nights at the Hotel and the experience was fantastic. The staff is very helpful and happy to be there. The restaurants serve good food and if you get bored just 5min walk down the beach and you find yourself on the "High rise strip". The strip is full of shops and restaurants to satisfy any taste and price. We are planning to go back next year!

Excellent beach, location and service

I explored other hotels around, and this hotel has the best beach, location, pools, dining, entertainment. There are a few things which need improvement: the cazino needs to have a better air filtration; too much smoke. Negociate the position of the room; I always had issues when made reservations online, I did not get the best garden room, and I got the worst one and I was lazy to go and ask for a different room. Avoid the second floor garden view room facing the time shares and the cazino side, cause I notified the hotel that there was a rat running on the cover of the sidewalk which was as the same level with our room balcony. Ask about the policy of renting the huts, cause I was never told that they have to be reserved and the print they have outside is at a level of someone who is 1' tall not 6', and on 3rd day I was asked to move my stuff away from a reserved hut. Also, I was told in my 3rd day... by different attendees in charge with the reservations of the huts...different policies and hours that they can be reserved by. The people who run the club section on the beach should post a sign out that the bottled water offerred to various people I saw getting them, is only for the members, cause I was so thirsty and I asked if they have water, which I expected to pay for, and in return I was asked what room I am staying at...so the lady found out indirectly that I am not a member of the club and she didn;t offer me any bottles as a courtesy at least, but how should I know that that's only for members if was no note outside of her little club house hut? Little things that would make a big difference. And lastly, avoid going to the Carnaval show which received many complains...and is not refundable. The show is in the worst area of the island...I was very disappointed. That show can be done around the malls somewhere. Overall, I had a good experience, but not the best!

Great resort with mostly great staff.

We loved our week in Aruba at the Marriot Stellaris. Rooms were nice, not large by any means with very few options to get anything larger, but clean and the balconies are great. Stores and restaurants on site provide just about everything you need but for a premium price. Most of the staff was friendly and helpful so maybe that's why the ones that weren't stood out so much. There are two clothing/souvenir shops in the lobby - one staffed by very friendly people (the one with drinks/snacks etc..) the other one was staffed by some of the rudest employess I've ever encountered. They gave you a stare down from the moment you walk in, no smile, no greeting just staring. I walked up to the register to purchase an item and they did not say one word to me just stuck their hand out for the item and my credit card. This kind of thing is bad for the Marriot and they need to address it. Also the Morning Cafe was nice to have but also staffed by rude ineffectual staff. My 13 year old son observed that you need to walk up and yell at them in Spanish otherwise they completely ignore you if you are quietly waiting your turn - he was right. Overall it was a great vacation and a beautiful resort so my complaints are very small in the grander scheme. We would return to Aruba but might try a condo or something with a little more space.

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

Do not use the De Palm shuttle from/to the airport. It cost almost $90 for four of us and they put you on a bus then make you sit and wait til the bus fills up before they will leave. Then you stop at everyone else's hotels first because the Marriot is the last stop. A cab with tip cost $40 one way for four people with 5 bags and it is much more direct.

Great Getaway!!

Everyone was extremely friendly and rooms were very clean. The only gripe I had was the fact that you have to wake up at the crack of dawn (6 am) to reserve a hut on the beach.

Great time

The hotel was very pretty and seemed quite modern. The room was clean and our "partial view" balcony gave us plenty of view of the ocean. The pools were also beautiful and plentiful. The casino at the hotel was the favorite one we visited while in Aruba. The spa at the hotel seemed a bit disorganized and the decor made me a little worried when we arrived for our appointments; but the actual services were quite excellent! Our only issues were that the hotel was a little more "out of the way" from shopping and touristy stuff than we'd have liked and that it was exceedingly difficult to find an umbrella to sit under unless we got up at the crack of dawn to "reserve" one by flopping our towels on some chairs. Overall, a nice hotel and a good experience.
