Disappointing experience

Hotel seemed surprised that they were busy at Christmas. Our room was the wrong type; the shower did not drain; the dedicated Guest Request line was not answered once in 5 days; the wait-staff was rude and resentful when asked to provide the chicken ordered rather than the fish delivered - advised that there was nothing to be done; the lobby shop refused to allow us in when they closed early (without notice) for the "company party", the following telephone lines were never answered from the room phone: room service, housekeeping; guest request; concierge; registration. No effort to help guests. Each request or question was met with sullen intransigence. Have stayed at many hotels in Aruba - this is the only time I've experienced this treatment. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend the hotel to anyone - friend or foe.

Had a great time here over Christmas. The location is perfect, beautiful grounds, great beach (would recommend a beach hut). Fun casino and great night life all walking distance. The rooms were recently renovated so clean and fresh. Some other hotels are filled with a lot of young families with children. Radisson was much more laid back, guests were a good mix of families and couples. We were there with our two adult sons in there 20s and a fun time was had by all!

Best place!

We stayed at the Radisson for 5 nights in September 2012. We had the best experience from the hotel staff to spacious beaches. We received a complementary upgrade to the ocean view room but it had two queen beds. When we got to our room, we realized that queen size beds were not as big as in the US. Same night, we were promised a king size bed room with even better view. But we had to wait two more nights. That didnt bother us. The staff moved our luggage to a better room when we were out and we enjoyed our stay even more because of the accommodating, wonderful staff. Hotel grounds are full of exotic birds, during the day you can take pictures with them when they let them out. Hotel restaurants were not our favorite. There are tons of nice restaurants across the street and there is Wacky Wahoos - excellent fish choices (it's better to make a reservation to have a guaranteed table). Every afternoon we were looking forward to cold water with oranges that the hotel offered for its guests. Pools were nice and clean. Would definitely go back to stay here again.

Don't be fooled by the "high rise" label. Very cool laid back atmosphere. Great room, Great pool, Great staff, cool casino, and PERFECT BEACH. Across the street is a bunch of restaurants, shopping and party spots. It was exactly what I was looking for. I will be returning soon. Chris and Karin

Almost perfect, but noisy and somewhat misleading

When I booked the room the description mentioned "garden view". In reality it came out to be the view on the restaurant roof top with exhaust fans. Not sure whose fault was that, but the staff was receptive and we were relocated to another room with the real garden view. However all rooms apparently have the same problem – connecting doors. It is indeed a convenience for big families willing to co-join several rooms in one suite. However you become part of “that” family even with the doors closed and piece of foam layered in between. The sound is still excellent to hear casual conversation and TV, not to mention after party excitement. The second night brought another surprise – midnight fire alarm in the hall. I checked it out first time indeed – it was obviously false. However after that it was setting off at least half a dozen times within the next couple hours. Next morning I was explained that “someone pulled it down the first time, but then it was malfunctioning”. End of the story. Maybe it was just a bad luck, so I still would recommend this hotel with some caution.
